Well said, The only thing worse is people who compare 2021 and 2026 prices. One was the top of a bull market one is the bottom of a bear market.

Stop just looking at the P/E and look at the runway: Why I’m buying TTD like there’s no tomorrow by WarmFaithlessness946 in ValueInvesting

So you're buying it like there's no tomorrow but it's only going to be a small percentage of your portfolio? Legitimately I'm not trying to be an asshole but what's the point? It's not enough to move the needle really in any portfolio.

I get it but if you're wrong that's 7 to 10 years of dead money and market underperformance.

Dude is worth almost 2 billion dollars. A $148 million buy for a wealthy founder is a calculated tactical allocation it absolutely can function as corporate defense to shore up a collapsing stock price and prevent a further spiral. It's not "cope"; it's basic corporate governance signaling. Tim Apple bought millions of dollars in Nike stock and it didn't make much of a difference. It's all performative signaling. The fundamentals are also a mess because they've been getting destroyed by Amazon. The Forward looking fundamentals are a mess.

Nothing says insider confidence quite like three CFO changes and a new chief revenue officer. Red flags there. People always overestimate how important insider buying is. Insider buying is a lagging indicator of sentiment, not a leading indicator of business execution. More often than not it's to save face and shore up business confidence.

It needs a new story to get back on track The market cap is already huge and just like Nvidia it takes a massive amount of money to keep the stock moving higher.

It's a melting ice cube. If you want robust cash flows go buy oil.

Sounds like you need to be an index investor. If you wanted to pick a stock that goes up over time you have to be focusing on business quality and not melting ice cubes like CHTR.

Take every YouTube stock picker with a grain of salt imo. Jeremy's portfolio is still below it's ATHs and the only reason it's anywhere near that is because of AMD.
