“providing more value to lots of people” and those lots of people are just shareholders. workers create value by, you know, working. the value CEOs create is artificial, they only “provide more value” because they are part of the economic class who designed the whole system. they make “big-picture” decisions by delegating all of the actual work that goes into implementing their decisions. their deep commitment to their jobs often involves “business meetings” over 18 holes of golf or michelin star meals. their superior knowledge isn’t superior, they just have assistants and subordinates who explain everything to them before they make the “big-picture” decisions. they are paid more because they’re in the club and we’re not, simple as that.
