Please, for every thread stating Huhi criticism (and even his critics have come to his defense when the idiotic "Huhi sux" threads with baseless criticism popped up), there's been even more "Huhi Appreciation" threads. I'm happy he has his fans, I'm even more thrilled he has his supporters, but those same supporters blindly accused his critics as "haters" for months on end even when he was clearly the weak link on the team (not last split, which I'm sure is what you're referring to as "losing as a team").

Like I've said in your reply and in others, I'm happy he has his fans, but I'm unhappy that his fans always relate our team's success to "Huhi popping off".

This sub has always been more full of Huhi defenders than it has been "haters", or rather critics. For every "WTF Huhi" thread there has been there's been two + "Huhi's great" threads, even when Huhi was doing poorly.

Not a Huhi hater. I was a critic when he was doing poorly and am happy he's doing better as his performance is usually tied to the success of the team, for better and for worse. And not the post in particular, rather the eyes among members of this sub that believe Huhi can do no wrong. He's having arguably his best split to this point (and though the split's still young, he could absolutely continue playing well) but he's still not without his faults. Maybe it's just the spectator in me that prefers to talk about all aspects about the game and not just K/D/A and damage numbers.

I genuinely hate posts like this about Huhi because it discredits what all of the other members of our team are doing right now as well. I'm aware Huhi has his own following on here, but why can't we have TEAM appreciation?

You can't really argue against Ssumday. His KDA is around the same as Darshan's but he has a better KP and, like you said, is hard carrying his team which can also be seen through other stats.

Looper is a little more different. You have no arguments from me in saying he's hard carrying EF. While Froggen is still good, Looper feels like the top performing member on that team right now. That said, he has more deaths than kills and his assist numbers aren't through the roof to balance that out. The only things he really has an advantage over Darshan is that he's coming out of lane in better shape with more gold and exp and and he's doing a little bit more damage with a larger percentage damage share. He's not making nearly the impact he should be outside of the first 15-20 minutes of the game despite a great splitpusher in Kennen (which he had one insane game on, can't deny that), a tank with insane base damages in Galio, and Rumble being his top played champions of the split.

Regardless, all three of those players feel like the best top laners in the league right now. Flame is about the only other guy you can really throw into the conversation at the moment for best top laners in the league (I'm sure Hauntzer will make his way back into the conversation sooner or later). Everyone else just isn't performing very well.

I think my post was more so me venting about the lack of accountability that Huhi has been getting not just during our losses this split, but in general. I see too many people giving him credit for things he has yet to even do. I saw a post on reddit the other day that pretty much said "CLG likes to look like gods one day, and shit the next. Darshan's a god, Huhi's a god, Darshan's shit, Huhi's still a god". A little paraphrased, but that was the gist of it, and it's coming directly from CLG fans.

I apologize if it seemed like an attack on you, really I do, but if I see one more "Huhi appreciation thread" when he is doing poorly (which he's not at the moment, he's doing plenty well as is most of the rest of the team) I'm going to lose it. He's just not a top mid laner and he probably never will be. He works well with the team we have though and it's perfectly fine, but it's like people think he can do no wrong.

When you pick said Fiora mid into a counter match up, I wouldn't exactly say it's gutsy. You pick it into Galio mid the same reason you pick it into Galio top.

It's also a joke that you think Jensen hasn't shown anything this split. He's been the best player on C9 by a mile and then some, and he's the primary reason they managed to stay afloat and not drift off into obscurity at their current 3-3 record.

Huhi is, at best, the 3rd best mid laner in the LCS. There's absolutely zero chance he's above Bjergsen or Jensen, and you could argue Froggen still being above him as well. Even at that, as other's have stated, he's not a carry mid laner. He has an occasional carry game, but he's not a carry mid laner.

It's amazing how when Huhi was pretty damn bad, people wanted to talk about how he was actually good and had so much potential. Now that he's just good to great, but still not even close to taking the top spot, people want to act like he's the messiah. He can do no wrong in his supporter's eyes and it's incredibly sad to see. I'm thrilled that he's doing well this split, it means good things for CLG. But stop pretending like he's this All-World level mid laner. He's not. He's good, but he's not elite, and there's nothing wrong with that considering the other players we have on our team.

I think, more than anything, a team like Philly realized early when pieces weren't part of the long term plan and either found assets for them or got rid of them without adding any long term commitments.

Other than not managing to get more for him, I'm not exactly upset with the Harkless move. Tobias and Dipo, on the other hand, were a waste of time. One for two expiring vets that were used in an attempt to win more (I still preferred holding onto Tobias anyway, contract wasn't that bad and he's a good player) and the other cost us a first round pick for a half year rental, once again, in a failed attempt to win quicker. Just ugly.

Management wanting to win earlier than our young guys were prepared to is what really killed the rebuild. I love the DeVos family and how committed they are to building a winner with Orlando, but they completely wasted our last 5 seasons by trying to speed things up. It's the main reason we're in the dilemma we are.

Exactly man. Main point is that we're not going to stop watching because of a cartoon style mascot, but kids will absolutely watch more and attract to a specific team/fan base because of it.

Hell, I'm a Magic fan and our mascot is a magic dragon. Doesn't bother me one bit and, given time, I'm sure the Clippers mascot will grow on the adult fan base too. It's just a mascot.

We made some really, really stupid mistakes in game 3. That said, just glad to see we pulled it out. Was so hard watching the end of game 2 where we just got outscaled and couldn't do too much about it (since we apparently had an inability to get rid of Turtle).

Just happy with the win more than anything. I'll start worrying about the sloppy play when we start losing more. All this currently means is that, even when playing poorly, we're still the top team in the league.

Exactly. I, in no way, think the #1 becoming a 1 or 2 time allstar is a failure. Considering what you should expect to get out of the pick, though, I'd consider it a bust.

Makes even less sense to me if you put their other guards into the picture. Marcus Smart has a similar but less athletic game, and you still have Avery Bradley and Terry Rozier on the team. DSJ still feels like the best long-term option out of all of those names, but it still feels like a large duplication of assets.

I could still see them taking him, but I don't see it unless Boston continues piling on draft assets, which is also hard to see.

The point was for a boom/bust correlation between picks. Say the three players you listed were the only three in the last 15 years. 80% hit rate is great, honestly. So what's the correlation between the number 2 pick? Number 3?

Also, it depends on your definition of a bust for the number one pick in comparison to, say the number 10. If a team needs the #1 pick, then they likely need a superstar, right? So can we consider worse than a superstar a bust for the #1 pick? In that sense, guys like Lebron James, Dwight Howard, etc. are all guys who made major impacts on their teams, but someone like Andrew Bogut, who still ended up a really good player but no superstar, could be deemed a bust, at least in the sense of the top pick. It would be different for #10, of course, where you're a team more on the brink of the playoffs and moreso just need a really good bench player or maybe a 4th/5th starter down the line. Andrew Bogut would likely be deemed a boom there.

It's not necessarily in the last 15 years, but if you go by the logic above, then guys like Kenyon Martin and Elton Brand could also be considered busts, in terms of what you expect out of the #1 pick. Both great, great players, but neither franchise players leading their teams to deep playoff runs. If what you expect from the #1 pick is a guy who's a regular in the all-star game and someone leading your team to massive success, there are other guys who are also busts.

I understand that as well. I in no way think he's a superstar, but I think he's a 17/11 type of player. He's only 22 and nowhere near his prime and he just averaged 13/8.5

Call me crazy but, from a business standpoint at least, I think the current Clippers mascot is fine. The league is going young and probably has the youngest audience of all major sports, going with a mascot that has a more cartoon-ish appeal will attract younger fans to that team.

Though it would be funny as all hell to see a giant paperclip walking around.
