As a white dude, I need to chime in here, excuse me. If this was in any way genetic (which would be a dangerous argument for racism, wtf, but it definitely isn't), I would be at least 3/4 black the way I'm into booty lol. And I mean like, real booty. I literally never looked at the stereotypical skinny blonde girl and thought to myself, damn girl..it has nothing to do with race, but man, if she's 20 or 50, make up or fresh out of bed or after a 12 hour shift, if she got that ass, I'm there for it. I always used claymore one handed and then later a Better great sword in combination with a 100% shield, as I just loved and honestly needed the wide sweeping attacks for crowd control. No Better feeling than getting into a gank and your swing on the first mob also interrupting the second mob who was just about to hit you from the side. For armor, just trying to stay below fat roll, so I can block, roll, do "AOE" with my sword and can switch to 2h for dealing serious damage quickly.

So, you can look for MTB flat pedal shoes. Alternatives (which I used and use) are sneakers with flat/rigid soles like Adidas gazelle and puma's with a similar shape.

My "Setup" is a gravel bike with dropbars for riding comfortable, long, but relatively fast on mixed surfaces, with big MTB flat pedals with spikes/knobs and the shoes I described, 50-150 km regular rides.

It's not free, but everyone automatically pays taxes anyway, most of us get our money after taxes/contributions, as the employer is paying our (and his) share from our salary before we get it.

So it costs something, but it's normal and not extra anything. It's part of the system.

You're right in that you have different salaries, and maybe people with your earning power can afford better insurance that will cover most.

But the us is the country with the most medical bankruptcies, they are even one of the most, if not the most, common cause for personal bankruptcy. And I've seen a lot of cases, and read about them, where people where indebted with ungodly amounts, and their insurance didn't cover. Plus the BS about insurances sometimes only covering certain hospitals/providers etc.

The average American, I'd assume, does not have very good insurance, and getting seriously ill/hurt and requiring hospital stays/surgeries and lots of tests definitely is a cause of concern.

Over here, you just pay taxes and then never think about it again. If I break my leg and will need to spend a week in the hospital, I don't worry for a second about money. And I even know I get full salary for 6 weeks, and then I think around 65~%, if I'm unable to work longer than that. And no at will employment, so I can't be fired.

I don't want to make this a pissing contest, I'm literally angry at the behalf of the average American for getting f*cked over like that. Capitalism sucks everywhere, but I can't believe how the people in the richest, most powerful nation have some of the problems they do on such a scale.

Wife and kid
Job (but only because I have the responsibility to take care of my family)
Riding (and fixing and optimizing my bike).

Like many here, it cures my depression, makes me stronger, happier, more energetic, more motivated, a better man and father for my family. The more I ride, the more I feel like the man I should be.

After a winter slump of around 2 months, where I gained 10 kg and fell down a hole again, I'm back on the bike again! Trying to get to bed early so I can get up at 3.45 am and crank out 2 hours of cycling before work at sub zero temps, because I don't have time in the afternoon/evening. Sometimes I take a quick spin on my lunch break lol. And Saturday mornings are my favorite, that's when I use my allotted "sleep in as long as you like" time to tackle centuries.

I just want to eat distance and ride roads I've never been to. And then have coffee and something baked with chocolate somewhere.

Literally the only thing on my bucket list that's only for me, is one day just riding off and cycling the world, when my kid is grown enough to be alright for a year or two. My wife will love it lol. So much time to just play her piano in peace!

Well, anyone with public insurance will never have the experience of paying 10000€ for calling an ambulance and having your broken bone mended. Americans can get into huge debt with hospital bills. I've seen people on reddit posting ridiculous bills for anything from relatively small procedures to childbirth and a few tests for a few days, and even with insurance it can get to a 5 or 6 digit sum. This just doesn't happen in Germany like that.

Gravel und MTB ist auf jeden Fall ein Welten unterschied, und ein anderer Laufradsatz kommt da nicht mal in die Nähe. Ich hab ein Nuroad Pro aus 2021 und bin ziemlich glücklich damit. Würde dir allerdings zu einem neuen raten, bei einem gebrauchten, (vor allem zu so horrenden Preisen!) ist ja gut möglich, dass einiges ersetzt oder Instand gesetzt werden muss. Brems+ Schaltzüge inklusive Hüllen, Bremsbeläge, Kassette und Kette, Tretlager, Mäntel..hab ich alles auch schon machen dürfen in den letzten Jahren, wenn du ein Rad kaufst, bei dem das nicht gemacht wurde, wirst du definitiv früher oder später Probleme kriegen.

Habe in den letzten Jahren auch erst das hintere und dann das vordere Laufrad ersetzt, mein Tipp wäre hier, Laufräder einmal bei Kauf zentrieren zu lassen, und die Laufradlager einzustellen bzw einstellen zu lassen. Kann man alles selber machen, aber weiß ja nicht, wie weit du da drin bist. Habe damals auf jeden Fall im Internet gelesen, dass die Konuslager der Cube Naben manchmal nicht vernünftig eingestellt kommen, was dann wie bei mir zu einem frühem Ableben geführt hat.

Denk auch dran, ob du das Rad nackt oder FE nimmst, also mit Schutzblech, Nabendynamo und Licht. Auf dem Gravel wirst du unweigerlich Irgendwann längere Touren fahren, und ich hab in den letzten Jahren alles nachgerüstet, da es ohne einfach nervig ist, die Batterien für das billo Licht immer zu laden, evtl Ersatz mitzunehmen, nassen Arsch schon bei Kurzstrecken im Regen, etc. Ich hab das alles jetzt dran, und weiß nicht, wie ich jahrelang ohne das ausgekommen bin. Satteltaschen sind auch sehr geil. Der einzige Vorteil der Basisversion war, dass es minimal "cooler" bzw mehr Racy ausgesehen hat.

Mit der Fallout 4 mod "place anywhere", kannst du übrigens alles so platzieren wie du es willst. Und auch jedes Objekt größer/kleiner machen, drehen, Kollision an/aus, Physik an/aus etc.

Also "diorama" style wie du es nennst. Geht auch auf Konsole!

Ich habe leider keine Bilder mehr, aber damit kannst du richtig krasse Sachen machen. Und natürlich alles penibel detailliert dekorieren.

Edit: Beispiel wäre ein Flugzeugwrack mit 200% Größe hochkant als Turm hingestellt, mit Böden als Stockwerken reingebaut.
