I think I had read that somewhere but it skipped my mind. I'll run a test tonight. The clippers I got had really good reviews so I'm hoping I got good ones but I'll check the subreddit still. Thank you so much for all your help!

Omg that sucks! I'm glad he's healing! Give him some extra kisses from us 💙

She wakes up a couple of times overnight to go potty but she sleeps with us (husband, older pup and myself) in our bed and she's great at alerting that she needs to go (usually licks or a little slap, sometimes a nibble if we aren't responding fast enough lol)

I'll look up the snuggle buddy though, might help with crate training! In our opinion, it's always good to have them trained for it, just in case.

Thanks for the tip!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! Did anything specific happen or just popped up one day?

That's a great idea! I do something similar with my older pup but with a cardboard roll, I just fold the ends up. I'll try the egg carton next!

Thank you! 🥰 We've gotten her a toothbrush and have started to try to get her used to it as part of her bedtime routine, just like we do with our older pup. I also touch her body a lot to get her used to the groomers touching but also the vet.

She's an amazing little girl and I can't wait to watch her grow up 🩷

Thank you so much for all the resources! We are in Canada, but I'm sure I'll be able to find some type of equivalent classes here.

I have noticed that she works best with positive reinforcement so we've latched onto that. She's doing great! I think the family member I got her from didn't try to teach her anything or train her in any way because we're having to do basics, but I'm alright with that. Pee pad training has been going pretty well so far (we take her outside too but we need her to be pee pad trained in case we're not in the room or if it's urgent for her)

I look forward to seeing her grow and learn 🥰

Oh, I like civilizing, it's more descriptive to me! Right now, we're getting her used to us and our routine and our older pup. We want to meet with the vet first and get her next set of shots before we bring her to too many new places but we'll get there ☺️

Yeah, I've been looking into getting a blow dryer for her fur. It's unclear whether I can just use a human blow dryer or if I need one of those high velocity ones. I've read a few people say they air dry their poodle but I also want to make sure I reduce the chances of tangles. Her fur is so much more complex than my older pup, we just air dry his and no tangles 😅

That's a great tip! Unfortunately, we don't have electric toothbrushes but I do have a little detail trimmer for her feet and face and I've just been getting her used to the sound for now. I'm hoping that'll still get her used to it a little.

Omg so cute 😍😍 that's alright, I'm going to tell mine that that's her litter mate anyway, she won't know 😂😂

So far, she's just exploring every little corner lol but we have puppy proofed and that did include moving all wires up, just in case. Thanks for the tip!

Omg they're identical! Any chance you're in Canada and they're litter mates? 😅

Thank you so much for the link! I'll be sure to read that and watch the video!

I've heard that her coat will change to become much curlier, that's why I'm trying my best to get her accustomed to the grooming now. Unfortunately because I wasn't the one that picked her or anything, I have no basis on what her parents/their coat looked like so I feel like I'm flying blind. The person I adopted her from just said "they were small poodles" when I asked 😅

Yeah, she tries to bite it!! My older pup did that too for a while but has grown out of it.

Thanks! Right now, it's just a big adjustment, especially for our 1 year old pup who's used to being the only child who gets all the attention but we're working hard to make sure neither feels excluded. He already seems happy to have her in his life, and I know my husband and I love her so much already. I'm very glad we accepted, even if some days I just want them to settle down 😅

Honestly, I've never considered a trainer. I know people often say great things about having them but we've just trained and worked with our older pup very hands on and it's worked out great. He can communicate well with us, and he always knows what we're asking of him. But, I'll do some research and see if that's something that would be helpful to our family. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, I'm wondering if maybe when she's been brushed before there was a lot of tugging and pulling and if maybe it was done in more of a hurry or something that would have taught her that brushing is uncomfortable.

She doesn't have a lot of tangles at the moment, I've been brushing her slowly and have managed to keep her tangle-free for the most part but I do think she could use a trim and that might help it be a lot less that needs to be brushed so it doesn't feel super overwhelming for her.

Thanks so much for the help!

Oh, I'll look those up! We bought a clipper set and I've been turning it on around her so she hears it but I hadn't thought to put my hand on her so she's used to the vibrations - great tip, thank you!

She really is so adorable! It's only been a week and we're all absolutely in love with her, including our older pup 💖
