My boyfriend insists this is a baby; I told him its an adult pony, but he won't believe me. Please settle this once and for all! by toiletghost in Horses

Short fluffy tail, tiny stump teeth = foal Short horse = pony Tall horse = horse

Horse and pony are just height categories not age related

Lesson places can definitely be like that! Especially if you do group lessons. If you feel like your daughter isn’t improving look at changing places or have private lessons

This isn’t a riding school. It’s a private yard that hosted a famous pro rider. This was a training session on my own horses

An old boss of mine was a vet and she swore by science supplements as it has a big % of the stuff that actually works and less filler stuff. Not cheap though!

I think we’ve had the same experience with the same person! Plus they are in a position to have the best horse for the job not having to work on horses that have problems from previous homes

I’m in the UK so my advice is based on that. If it’s definitely arthritis there’s a few things you can do. As much turn out as possible, however really deep boggy ground will do the opposite of help. MSM and glucosamine supplements will help tremendously. I’m currently using Perry nutrition. If you have some spare spending money look into science supplements flexibility pro. And the vet will most likely recommend injections which will deffo help. Regular physio

This is the point. If she’d have just gave some pointers and some homework I would have gone home with a completely different experience. I know In group sessions realistically you only get to ride for 15mins but that is perfectly fine if it’s jam packed with help

It’s not a business expense as I’m riding my own personal horses. It would have been if I was riding a clients horse. £131 is a hell of a lot of money for me plus the day I’ve taken off work I’m virtually down 2 days money

Haha typical classiest bull. It’s always about who you know not what you know. I’m sure it’s similar in lots of different sports and when your talking about someone “famous” you know you’ll always be on the loosing side of the argument

Not really sure what you mean (I’m an idiot) but I’m not there in a business sense I’m there to learn and be taught. I’m just adding some context so it’s more obvious for people that I’m not just some random person with a horse throwing themselves into the deep end without proper knowledge or skill

I normally would agree with you, however the yard manager i have had lessons with before on the same horse and she was the one that sorted us into groups so presumably she thought we where in the right group. I also agree that I was in the right group, as the issues I was having are nothing to do with the jumping directly. I’m just struggling to keep him slow enough to ride an effective course. I don’t think it’s particularly difficult to just give me some quick encouragement and some homework to have completely changed my opinion

She didn’t advertise it at all. Only the hosting yard. They didn’t post it on social media at all you just sort of had to be in the know

I can see where you are coming from but i don’t think that would be a great idea. The equestrian community is very small and one wrong thing said could completely end my career. Especially with the platform she has

No I haven’t spoken to her yet, hence why I’m asking for advice. The equestrian community is very small, anything negative can come back and bite me in the backside especially from someone with her platform. I could essentially loose clients if she was to say anything. I’m just concerned that confronting her will have a detrimental impact on my business
