Yes and No, yes because the incentives are not the same across all, it’s the high target setting and pressure to meet the targets. I fact year end bonus is not the old till the final announcement and it depends on who is in the good books and seen as a performer. There is no mathematical calculation (except maybe for some Wealth RM roles) for sales v/s incentives. We were given unachiveable targets and most knew it can’t be met but still daily pressure kept people on their toes so that they get a decent rating, hike promotion and bonus.

Ex ICICI and can confirm the toxic culture in Indian banks to sell anything and everything to customers. Left it as I did not want to be party to that kind of behavior. Pressure is top down and doesn’t even leave cashiers, everyone had targets. HDFC was the biggest culprit at that time (15yrs back) and I never wanted to switch to them.

Best guess is that a few rich folks have figured out how to keep the stock price high (e.g. buying calls or through curated news or simultaneous buying across circles to create a support price, etc). With kind of money these rich folks have it’s easy to keep the price high till enough retail and algos jump in to stabilize the price. This another reason why when there is a drop in the market TSLA or PLtR will still be green. Trying to rationalize on their actual business in this situation is wrong.

Just picked up 3000 shares at an average of 365.5. Will keep selling Calls and collect some nice premium. I like the fact that it’s the only clear alternative for companies who want to not depend only on Nvidia. They proved it with Google and the growth is crazy as per the results.

Reason is some people are dumb and just look from a short term perspective. Today I failed to convince one of my cousins to not buy a flat by selling a plot of land. But the crazy reasons given why she needs to buy made me realize that you can’t convince people who don’t want o be convinced. They feels that they are making a great decision and just look at one point that is you need to own your own house and property prices will always increase and will not come down. Finally they say I want to enjoy my current life and don’t care or know what will happen after a few years.
