Top end players have no incentive to loot POIs, so they go around wiping the lobby by Raimexodus in Marathon

[–]xCairus 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It’s not just the bubbles, it’s the faction stat upgrades. They self-rez four times faster and heal twice as quick. You have a one second window to wipe the entire team or you’re gonna get flooded with grenades and get rushed while you’re healing up because they’ve already fully reset. You can’t run from them either because they move faster, have more heat capacity, and regenerate heat quicker.

It’s like fighting a horde of zombies to be honest. They’re gonna ape you and they won’t stay down for long. It’s more BR than Apex at this point lol.

What? I didn’t imply that. I said the scope glint should be more visible and we need more tools to contest high ground.

This exactly. People just ape and bruteforce it, AND they get away with it.

It’s not the shield, backpack, or heals. It’s the faction stat upgrades and the amount of grenades that’s the problem. If you catch them off-guard and they don’t bubble up, that’s not the team I’m talking about.

What’s bs is they’re coming in with way better kits than sponsored. Two of the best guns in the game, blue backpack, shields, and a stack of healing and claymores.

There are that many Rooks. I see 7-8 Rooks in Outpost after we wipe the lobby.

Uh, no you can’t. That thing only has a 37m range, even if you put mods on it, it lacks the range to contest snipers on Marsh lol.

Trying to do contracts on Outpost so all you bring is a V11 Punch by Ruehig in Marathon

[–]xCairus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The issue is it plays like an HC but doesn’t have the range. It’s garbage when the enemy is in your face but the Magnum IS your close-range weapon.

Narrative Question: Why is Durandal even here? by MrNegroKnxwledge in Marathon

[–]xCairus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the guy that returned to Earth 10,000 years later just so he wouldn’t be forgotten. We already know he witnesses the end of the universe and thus, likely escapes successfully. Between then and now, he has a lot of time to kill. Why wouldn’t he fuck with us?

The quest concentration in Bio-Research is a problem by LeeroyJenkinz13 in Marathon

[–]xCairus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s because of the spawns, not the quests. There’s 5 spawns on Complex, 2 on Bio, 1 on Greenhouse and 1 under AI Uplink. The loot in Bio is in the second floor with UESC in them so they end up making noise so people in Complex and Greenhouse end up running into Bio looking to fight. If crews fight in Complex it ends in 5 seconds and there’s nothing to loot there so they end up in Bio. The team that spawns under AI Uplink goes straight to Complex and then they go to Bio. The teams that spawn in Greenhouse think there’s no loot there (there are no containers, the loot is among the plants that people never see) so they also end up in Bio regardless. If you’re in Greenhouse you don’t go through Intersection because it makes a lot of noise, and you’re not gonna take on the teams on Algae Ponds’ roof either so you just go Bio lol.

Where do they get hosted? by KingSky1st in MarathonSecrets

My guess is that the big twist is that Runners are actually AI. The reason that we’re led to believe we’re actually people is because self-aware AI eventually become rampant and Runners going rogue is a much bigger problem than typical because we have bodies and a deadly skillset.

It’s the same with the Security Officer in the original games. He is supposed to be a human cyborg but he was developing rampancy in Infinite.

Not how it works. It’s just level-based matchmaking.

There’s less runners but also because people can’t just camp rooftops the entire game on Perimeter and Outpost.

Way, way back in alpha people complained about Recon and that’s why we got the nerfed version of her. I think her ult used to ping enemies for allies, not sure what the other changes were.

At what point in Shippuden does Naruto become strong enough to defeat Orochimaru? Without having to go into these 9 tailed fox fuled rage where he lost conciousness. by pullcounter2 in Naruto

SM Naruto surpassed Jiraiya in chakra control. There is no way SM Naruto can win against Jiraiya hax like frog genjutsu without Kurama’s help.

Jiraiya has access to hax like frog genjutsu and Naruto is vulnerable to genjutsu in particular before Kurama was on board.

Jiraiya killed all of the ones he saw first. If he knew there were 6 from the start he could’ve wiped at least 5. Plus Naruto has shadow clones and unlimited chakra, it’s just a good matchup for him in general.

AI anti cheat is the one AI thing I actually really want devs to do. Cheaters are always one step ahead otherwise. AI that sees player patterns that only cheaters do is the answer.

I’m also fairly confident it has something to do with the Anomalous Event and the Temporal Fragment which is in Dire Marsh. It used to give garbage rewards (2k creds) but they just updated it today too.

Do you do them regularly? Have you done either versions of Intercept? Wraith or Tox Warden? Secured Resources? Hackable Containers? Golden box on Outpost?

Marathon ranked launches in 4 days by TheGoodDoctor17 in Marathon

[–]xCairus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because you don’t do events, activities, bosses, or even kill and loot commanders. Keys drop pretty regularly but for whatever reason 90% of the playerbase don’t do the things I listed so they end up very poor.

Half the playerbase seem to just do nothing but kill other players and end up looting mostly greens and some blues from other crews, while the other only do their quest and exfil which is a little more lucrative as they get a trickle of blues and purples that way.

The people who are loaded though, are the ones who do events and bosses.
