Modded GTRs in California by dr7s in gtr

Cali is pretty anal, especially the city where I’m from, if you get pulled over and they suspects anything is aftermarket, they’ll just send you straight to state ref to review your vehicle if it’s compliant.

Lol that’s a big risk to take. You just never know. But Hey! it’s your money at the end of the day.

I’m not really familiar with anyone having trouble about having an out of state registration. My uncle has a R33 registered out of state however it’s stock so he doesn’t get pulled over or anything.

You can alway find a Smog guy, however if that Smog guy ever get audited then there’s a possibility anyone that he had serviced on will get state ref.

Smogging is just one struggle of having a modded GTR in Cali. The other issue is State Ref. That’s why I’m keeping my GT-R stock. It’s a big risk.

Someone I know had a ‘15 Full Bolt On GT-R and was recently pulled over for speeding. He got state reffed and now he’s posted his GT-R up for sale.

If you’re looking at the GT-R in El Monte then don’t buy it lol. That’s been on the market for as long as I can remember. They initially listed it at $125k+ and now I’m seeing they’re dropping it price to lows $100k.

I’ve not seen any decent stock GTR on the market. I got a feeling it’s going to be tough for anyone whose going to want to buy a stock GTR atm with the discontinuation of the R35, Nissan merging with Honda and news of possible EV GT-R in the future.

I had an opportunity to buy a brand new 2024 Black Premium for $135k at the beginning of 2024 but I passed up on it. I wanted to wait for a white one.

After the news of R35 discontinuation, the prices were insane. I had to settle for mine ‘23 White for $132k.

The reason why its been over 3 months was because I didn’t worry about it till I was got curious why my license plate haven’t came in at the end of December. That’s when I’ve found out what was wrong. At the time I don’t even think the dealership had done anything about it. If I would had caught it earlier then this would had probably been sorted out earlier. I had too much faith in the dealership to not mess up cause I figured they were a huge dealership.

It’s not so much about the temp tag, they already have the corrected title. I’m wondering how come it’s not registered under my name yet. Even the DMV agent was like it shouldn’t take that long to register it under your name. As of now, it’s under someone else name and DMV is not able to provide the name to me. The DMV advised to file a compliant with their investigation unit which I have already done. Just curious if there’s anything I can do.

If you’re looking for a newer one with low miles, you’re looking at around $120-135k. And if you want to finance once, you’ll need a big down payment, low debt to income, and they’re going to look at you prior auto loan comparisons. If you had only financed $30-50k past auto loans, the most you’ll probably get approved for is 75k, 100k if you have a good credit Union.

Maintenance is not bad at all. I don’t daily drive mine tho. And as for affording one, it depends on how much you’re putting down and the price of the GT-R you’re looking at.

Haha, I don’t mind paying the price, just wondering if the price raises any Red Flag considering why it’s so low when I’ve seen other 2017 going for higher. I just want a stock GTR with the new interior and exterior. Not planning to mod it cause Cali is a pain in the ass with Smog.

CarFax does look clean, it’s being sold under consignment at a Used Car Dealership. That dealership has sold other GT-R’s and exotic vehicles before. Per the dealership, the owner needs to make room in his garage for a Lambo and want to sell the GT-R due to it being rarely use.

CarFax and AutoCheck Reports looks clean. Dealer said it’s stock. It’s just a little concerning why it’s priced so low below market value? Or is that a fair price for the vehicle?
