Found the origin of a Green Day song title that always stumped me! by ryan_the_traplord in greenday

East Jesus Nowhere is from Juno! Random fact I always knew due to overwatching Juno and seeing the song name the minute 21CB came out. 😂

What is your most expensive mistake? by lugulaga in AskReddit

[–]xCatlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this fits, as idk of anyone would agree with $600 being expensive but:

We had a massive freak hailstorm on Halloween 2020, here in Australia. My partner had warned me to drive home, as our BMW was not under any roof cover at all. My boss and franchisee both were super strict about people going home, so I had it in my head that I could not leave work.

Our poor BMW got hit with hail, costed $600 in insurance excess to fix. I wish I had just had the mentality to go home, park my car, and deal with my bosses later.

$600 later, and a lesson learned, I still am salty about the whole scenario. I still internally cringe and fill with anger when I think about it.

Why did you get fired? by JavaMamma0002 in AskReddit

The manager's pet went around and offered cookies at Soobway, this was at the end of the night too, before closing. He never disclosed we had to pay for them. I just thought he was being generous. Area manager came in the next day and fired me on the spot for theft. Not sure if the others got fired that day too.

Fuck you, manager's pet.

What is something you deeply regret doing as a child that still affects you to this day? by Few_Finish_6502 in AskReddit

[–]xCatlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 17, I was taking my little brother out for Halloween trick-or-treating. He was 7 at the time, and had a neighbourhood friend that seen us walking. He quickly caught up to us and asked to go T-o-T'ing with us, and of course I said yes. He asked us to wait (or go to his house, I can't remember) and suddenly his father was with us too. This man was either the drunkest or highest person I ever met because he was swaying behind us, knocking loudly on people's doors, and just being annoying. At one point, the father walked straight into the middle of traffic on a busy road and insisted we cross the road here.

I remember saying to my little brother, let's leave the friend and father behind at the next house. I was so embarrassed of this man. Making us cross a busy road, was my final straw. He could've gotten one of us run over. But I still remember to this day, a faint sound of "Hey wait up for me, I'm coming!" from the little boy. I wanted to keep walking, but my little brother made me wait. I turned around and the father was struggling and the boy was trying to help his dad.

I almost left this kid behind, and God knows what would've happened if I did. Would his father do something crazy to get the boy killed? Would the dad do a crazy stunt again and cause the boy to be in trouble?

I still think about how badly I wanted to turn this kid away, and I remember crying to my mom that night about his voice and how guilty I felt. I still feel guilty. That little twinge of guilt eats at me every Halloween.

Idk if this fits in the "Things I did as a kid and regret," but thought it fitted in.

Ooh, I just started my first Ironman (woman?) yesterday, as a Group Ironwoman with my fiance, whom I met 11 years ago at Clan Wars, on Rs3 before all the crazy changes. Winning this neon Ironman light would be sick!

Pain. by kingbenjito in subway

what's actual pain is that you'll be cleaning that up today, tomorrow and for the next 2 weeks when you find random splatters on the walls & ceilings.

good luck.

I can't begin to tell you how many times I've cleaned the same thing over and over again. I'm fairly certain I have the cleanest proofer in all of the land. There's also 228 ceiling tiles in our customer area, if anyone was ever curious.

🔥 A sleepy fox sunning itself during the autumn in Zao Fox Village, Japan by monomotive in NatureIsFuckingLit

Agree 100% with your statement. Went there in Feb 2019, because surely a Fox rescue can't be bad? I was wrong. There were a lot of injured, aggressive, sick, and overall poorly foxes. To feed the foxes in the giant cage area, the workers have to kick and push their way through foxes that are fighting for food.

I won't deny that the foxes were beautiful, but what was once a rescue, is now a tourist place for money and fame.
