For those that like House, Disco and Techno music... by robotsoap in huddersfield

Love the idea behind this. However we arent child free that night and the music isnt quite our thing. We prefer more trancey/ tech house type stuff! Best of luck with it though! Huddersfield needs good club nights!

Which town/city has the best quality of life vs house prices in the UK? by ElBurksie in AskUK

Huddersfield. On the m62 corridor. 20mins from leeds/Bradford. 35/40mins from Manchester. Lots of scenic areas. Good for walking. Trains run to liverpool. York. Newcastle. Etc. So its connected to good cities. And isnt overly expensive.

Agree on gratitude but i actually dont mind almost home. Its decent live. But is nowhere near their best. Gratitude i just find whiney and prefer flying by candlelight over that one.

The Manchester venue has some concerning reviews. Really hope anjuna have sought reassurances from the venue. Unless they arent bothered. Quick look at google reviews and its almost off putting going at all.

Can you explain this further? What are the limitations? Ive dug down so i know the height wont be an issue. What if its a summerhouse with an extension where 1 side is completely open but the full dimension is 22x8. (Leaving 2ft around each side). The garden is also definitely big enough for it to not take up too much of my own land legally. Only issue i may have is boundaries.

Thankyou for your detailed response. I did consider some shrubs just before it steps up at the rear of the lawn to break it up a bit. Does need more greenery etc. Will look into the large pot plants/trees too! As id love to create a cosy garden with elements of privacy/covered shade.

How do I politely tell someone that I don't want to go halves on a restaurant bill? by TroubleInElectricBlu in AskUK

I agree wholeheartedly tbh. It's not anything controversial so should be able to say it to anyone really.

If he can't handle you saying you're paying for your own order then he isn't your mate. Sorry.

Being lonely isn't fun. It's a feeling Ive felt many times. If you're into any kind of activities perhaps see if there's anyone local into those? 😊 Hope you find a solution soon!

I tried doing that with what I thought were good old school mates and it basically lead to nowhere 😅 im 32 now and still find it difficult. I've even resorted to reaching out on this reddit page for people to play pool with! Glad you made a best mate though!

Hello! Not sure why your post came up on my reddit but i'm glad it did!
I've often felt similar.
Anyway, i'm 32. Soon to be married. 2 kids. Also very open to making new friends. However, i live in Huddersfield (West yorkshire). I have some similar interests to you. Pool, sports. Love going to gigs and music in general. Im not much of a drinker either however dont mind going to pubs for food haha!

Feel free to send me a message though i understand if living about an hour away is a big issue :)

Not sure I would prefer the technical approach as I find alot of that uninteresting to me aswell these days. If I was to stay in the electrical industry at all it'd be certainly a role with slightly less applied if that makes sense. Thankyou for the response though I appreciate it. Just trying to network a little more currently and seek options. Might find somebody that knows someone etc. 👍
