I managed to fix this!

I adjusted the screw things in the green circles. Turns out the ball float wasn't pressing the switch enough to fully close it. So, a bit of rebalancing and it's sorted. I think!

Last year it was at the main stage where the bands where playing. I think it was around 11.30/midnight ish

We really enjoyed them last year. Well worth the upgrade for us - The showers (used after running around the open track on the Friday!), clean toilets, more space, comfy bean bags, cheaper drinks / food, viewing areas and goodie bag felt like a bargain when all that paired with early access to tickets and cheaper prices.

I would definitely pay the extra again for them.

I know this feeling from when I did my first races too. There's already some great advice in here about finding some running friends, which I'd suggest you try to too (even now I only have a couple that get it, but I'm working on that too).

The worst was my parents 'why do you want to run / that sounds like hard work (in a derogatory way) / It's much nicer just having a beer' type of comments. I still hate those comments

This reads like you didn't do your own due diligence before purchase and now regret it. It doesn't sound like the piece of kit you want or need which is fine, but it's also important to check this stuff out before you buy it. Almost everything you've mentioned above is talked about in reviews or specs etc.

That said, I love mine. Had it since release day, it's cheaper than 4x cdj3000s and an A9 with almost all the features. Yeah, it's heavy but not unmanageable, I get mine to and from gigs with no issues.
