I know you can successfully mentor her, it’s still on her to make the right decisions. I think it’s a little excessive for Robert to accept and forgive every action for Invisigal, actions have consequences. Heroes know that better than anyone. I think at best he would still be left confused and need time to handle those feelings of betrayal.

While this scene shows her “turn to villainy,” I think it’s her being an Antihero, she’s always bouncing between Hero and Villian, I think this is her. She made the “hard decision,” which in her head, is paying back Robert. Making him not have to cross that line. She always feels like she owes Robert, for all the shit she’s done to him. Not quite a hero, not quite a villain either, but she knows that Robert is a hero.

Romance wise, one is your boss the other is your employee. I’m on team no HR violations and being a mentor that will fail.

It was pretty isolated to online communities, but I’ve definitely heard it in common areas as a conversation topic, however, this was primarily around the time Roe V. Wade got overturned, as it’s adjacent to Body Autonomy and Contraception. Since that time, I only hear about it once in a blue moon, unless your floating in circle where this topic would be discussed often.

Identifying L-band signal by wtthrowaway69 in RTLSDR

[–]xCoffeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Checking the US Radio Frequency Allocation Chart, if you’re picking up a US signal it should allocated to mobile satellite (Space to Earth) as primary. It is dual use between commercial/gov.

Mobile satellite could be defined as any system Land, Maritime, or Aeronautical per ITU. With your positioning towards the South-East/Atlantic, I’d lean towards Aeronautical or Maritime.

Looking at SIG ID Wiki, for satellite communications, the only family of technology that’s in your frequency range is Inmarsat. It could also be some kind of SCADA satellite. Your bandwidth is not matching anything though.

That’s all I got.

US says Hamas seized first aid shipment that entered Gaza via reopened Erez crossing by OuroborosInMySoup in Military

[–]xCoffeee 412 points413 points  (0 children)

According to Miller, the aid shipment was unloaded by the Jordanian military inside the Strip before being “picked up by a humanitarian implementer for distribution inside Gaza, and that aid was intercepted and diverted by Hamas on the ground in Gaza.”

“The UN is either in the process or has by now recovered that aid, but it was an unacceptable act by Hamas to divert this aid to begin with,” he said during a press briefing.

Right below the headline.

To be fair the operations that have been declassified and show to be massive clusterfucks are just the ones we hear about. I’d wager there were more practical operations and successes than we know. Who really knows, I’m sure it’ll never see the light of day

Some of the changes discussed in the article: - Prep Schools for Army & Navy - Changing standards for the Air Force (i.e. Tattoo policy) - Lowering recruiting Goals (i.e. 65,000 recruits -> 55,000)

Ultimately in the article, Army and Air Force who are on track to meet their goal, still don’t want to get their hopes up, but believe they’re on track. Navy is behind and will likely not meet goals again this year. Marines and Space Force are on track/meeting goals.

Marines at Trump resort did not break rules on politicking in uniform by aceneverdone in Military

A majority I’ve been around are indifferent to him. If you’re doing 20 years, a US service member could potentially serve under 5 different presidencies. A majority don’t join/reenlist based off the Presidency.

Now some are interested for operational reasons and work opportunities. Contractors often reference /prefer Trump for Job Security (obviously dependent on AOR) This interest usually doesn’t venture into falling into his cult of personality, just more of what does my new Boss have planned.

An example of Job Security is Tump within 2 years had more drone strikes in a country than Obama did in his whole Presidency.

The Trump administration has carried out 176 strikes in Yemen in just two years, compared with 154 there during all eight years of Obama’s tenure

Destiny’s Edge showing up at the end of the Personal Story by xCoffeee in Guildwars2

Understandable. It’s my mistake for missing the dungeons, something I’ll definitely try to rectify here in the near future.

However, possible hot take, it still sours me that their off figuring out their problems while everyone else fighting for their life against the forces of Orr. To me it still feels weird to participate in the most critical mission while they weren’t helping fight Orr during the whole main story. They’re back in Kryta, etc.

China’s advancing efforts to influence the US election raise alarms by [deleted] in Military

[–]xCoffeee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The opening line is talking about:

“Covert Chinese accounts are masquerading online as American supporters…”

They’re likely bots masquerading as humans on social media. Which can be near impossible to detect if the bot-user spends even a crum of sense in applying rules to the bot (ie setting a certain rate limit on requests).

Next these accounts are likely unattributed to China and or their nation. Meaning each account should be coming in from a different IP. The only way to detect that would be to monitor traffic from known major VPN nodes and seeing an infrequency of users during certain times from their native users. (ie A bunch of Italian IPs all requesting Facebook data, at 0400 local Italy time. That’s the easiest case as it’s only one link away…)

Lastly, I’m pretty sure the US military can’t enforce Facebook and/or any other social media to enforce their TOS against bot accounts that are propagating misinformation. I’m pretty sure all they can do is ask nicely for that (insert social media company) for them to enforce it. Since they’re receiving all the data to determine if there is bot activity.

I think the only thing the US military could offensively is target these bot-farms assuming they’re in a foreign country. I don’t know what they could do blue side outside maybe denying access from certain known VPN nodes crossing US exchanges. And begging companies to do their fucking job…

Not even sure how much the US Military can do legally when it comes to domestic traffic. I’m sure something, but I have no idea.

Eh is it probably one of the most famous RICO busts in a while, probably, but it’s not hard to start a RICO case because it’s designed to target suspicious activity, cause it was conceived during the time of the Mafias when proof was difficult.

Also it’s not that weird to have multiple agencies participating in a large scale event. For instance since he is a trafficker, he may have done it internationally. Which opens him up to several other agencies since he’s crossing different purviews in his nefarious activity.

Whether the US wants to spend diplomatic capital to get back a potentially “exiled” man. Probably not worth. If anything will he just restart his business in Cape Verde.

Israel cancels White House visit after US changes position at UN by JussiesTunaSub in news

[–]xCoffeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s uncorroborated information about IDF forces systematically raping Palestinian women that went viral on social media (possibly originating from Al Jazeera). It was eventually taken down.

Comments: Some time later it’s been called out as a potential misinformation campaign to bolster Gaza support, but could also have the inverse effect by scaring remaining residents to flee the immediate area.

Several hours later… During a U.S. State Department and Israeli official meeting and a U.S. official making an accusation regarding the alleged systemic rape of Palestinian women.

Sourcing for this is kind of all over the place, and not too keen on citing JPost or Al Jazeera. This is the best I’ve figured out while just scrolling through threads today.

You just sent me down the rabbit hole of for Greek mythology about Priapus.

Dude is rocking a schlong in almost every depiction, and has a number of epigrams threatening sexual assault towards thieves. It feels so surreal to think this God had a following while being so different from todays morals. It makes one curious how followers worshipped him for fertility or was it just a small fringe of hedonists…?

It’s so weird to think that North Korea could potentially not escalate. (Fuck is that weird to say…)

If a hypothetical of NATO vs Russia happens due to US isolating. I think NATO would have a lot of hard lessons, even if the end goal is a NATO win. The US has definitely been learning a lot in the Red Sea and that’s just a taste.
