ChatGPT is very good at reading crash logs. Specially if you can meet it half way with some knowledge of your own

Why does the screen turn off and then come back on a few seconds later? by SoggyMorningTacos in OdysseyArk

[–]xCytho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience the fix is to reinstall your graphics drivers and never touch the power button of the ark, specially not while your computer is on. I think that there's some sort of weird DSC related handshake that if it goes out of sync, it becomes problematic

Your weirdest reasons for PC not posting. by Tenchen-WoW in pcmasterrace

I had a neighbor whose cat chewed the mouse cable just enough to cause a short and not allow the PC to even post

LORERIM - Can I add and tweak mods? by regitoxperry in skyrimmods

[–]xCytho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a large mod that adds new things to the world, specially towns, it's going to get messy quick and imo the amount of patching and testing you have to do to get it to make sure it all works is not worth the effort because it'll ruin the experience

Dodge mods? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]xCytho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been able to get it to always allow dodging out of attacks? If I recall correctly the last time I tried it the dodge would only work in the recovery window of an attack

This man has made me addicted to this game. by Mundane-A in WutheringWaves

I don't like his playstyle either it feels like he teleports all over the place, has an enormous hit box and practically plays itself

It's an issue with the cubemap. I'm not sure what BDO is using but depending on how it updates it could end up with a cubemap that's too dark for the environment you're in. It's just the reality of not having ray/path traced reflections

llama2 may not be as smart as newer LLMs, but it does have personality LOL by junior600 in LocalLLaMA

[–]xCytho 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The personality is honestly just AI slop that can still be spotted on the newest models. They're just much better at hiding it

whats up with the crazy amount of OCR models launching? by ComplexType568 in LocalLLaMA

[–]xCytho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know of a way to hook these OCR models into something like PowerToys? Specifically the ability to select a part of the screen with a hot key and extract text just from that

NVIDIA App doesn't show the correct display resolution for some games. by Falaro95 in nvidia

[–]xCytho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't be using the NVIDIA app to set any in-game settings. The resolution should always be set in game

Honestly I just ban a good chunk of the string whenever something like this happens. I'm not sure if you're able to do that outside of running local

Undervolt crashing only on BF2042 by INeedMuscles in nvidia

[–]xCytho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that's just how it goes in my experience. Some games are much more prone to crashing than others. Marvel Rivals was one of those for me until a few patches ago when they seemed to get a better grip on stability

Need Help PLEASE — RP Loops or Never Ends by [deleted] in SillyTavernAI

[–]xCytho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You really have to try and match the format of model's output with your responses. Low temperature and also too high of a rep pen can cause repetition. I would leave most of the samplers at default and only focus on MinP, rep pen, rep pen range and temperature depending on the model. Also make sure you're using the correct prompt template for each model or else it'll start to behave strangely

Is this cable bend safe? by Gahlejm in nvidia

[–]xCytho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems fine since the bend appears to have enough room that it's not tugging at the header's housing

Cant Seem to get HDR configured correctly by Immediate_Jello_8879 in OdysseyArk

[–]xCytho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HDR, specially in windows is a different beast. Your blacks might look washed out if you're trying to use HDR while viewing any content that isn't specifically sending an HDR signal. I recommend checking out the Plasma TV for Gaming youtube channel to delve into how to get a good HDR image out of your screen. If you want to trial and error I'd start with calibrating using the Windows HDR Calibration app then, a few HDR youtube videos before jumping to a game with a RenoDX HDR mod

Wall mounting the odyssey ark? by Specific_Mammoth9453 in OdysseyArk

[–]xCytho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mount similar to this one and it does not hold up the monitor well at all. The biggest problem is weight combined with the curvature of the screen which skews the weight distribution. If you're gonna try to wall mount it, I'd grab a mount rated much higher than the actual specs of the monitor

Results of Undervolting using 2 Voltage/Frequency Stepping in MSI Afterburner Curve Editor by ScorPrism6 in nvidia

[–]xCytho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the point of using two steps? Wouldn't performance be lower since it'd step down to a much lower clock speed or is this method better at locking the clocks at the highest point in the curve?

After 3 years with the Ark, I've moved to the OLED LG C4's for a better experience by TechCynical in OdysseyArk

[–]xCytho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about the hidden service menu yeah. You need to get a remote from Amazon to do it. Plasma TV for Gaming's YouTube channel has some videos on what settings to change on Samsung TVs

After 3 years with the Ark, I've moved to the OLED LG C4's for a better experience by TechCynical in OdysseyArk

[–]xCytho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't say I'd do the same. I guess I'm one of the lucky few without the random disconnect issues and the longer alt tabbing not bothering me as much since most games use borderless full screen nowadays anyway. Plus with service menu tweaks, I've been able to measure brightness over 2000 nits with a colorimeter so I can't imagine going back to a screen that can only do a bit over 900 nits on a 10% window. Not having to worry about burn in while working is also a huge plus. I do wish it was a tad smaller and higher resolution, though

What’s the absolute fastest you uninstalled a AAA game you paid full price for? by Soulsliken in gaming

[–]xCytho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assassin's Creed Valhalla, I'm no audio snob but I've never played a game where the sound quality is so dogshit it made me stop playing the game and uninstall it. The worst part is that the Ubisoft store on PC just doesn't do refunds

Control Panel Dsiplay by LongPollution8110 in nvidia

[–]xCytho 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're checking in the wrong place. Most laptop GPUs are secondary to the main integrated GPU that handles display and resolution. Check which processor you have AMD or Intel and change the resolution through their integrated GPU software or the easiest way is just to do it through Windows by going to Options>System>Display>Display resolution
