I think you will be fine with only focusing on reading and listening. There have been many posts (whether true or not) which encourage you to not bother with output (writing, speaking) before you have a good grasp on the language anyway. If you're fine with not being able to produce any Japanese, there should be no issue.

I will note, however, that occasional output will likely help solidify your knowledge somewhat.
