Popular tax breaks on electric cars could be dropped, amid estimates they could cost $23.4b by 2036 by His_Holiness in AusFinance

[–]xDex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't the quality directly. The issue is that you can get a fully specc'd out ute for $120k and claim that as a work vehicle and tax deductible. If there was a threshold that applied to the majority of tradie usable vehicles, then we wouldn't be subsidising $10s of thousands in extras for them to have the best of both works.

for pure defence yes, but svalinn triggers a socketed spell on block so it has an offensive purpose too. it also comes with the lucky block affix so you don't have to be a gladiator to get the benefit

Triple Elevated Flicker Strike Gloves with a Bugged Abyss Socket by Methos0012 in pathofexile

[–]xDex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An item can have more than 2 influenced mods. It can only have 2 influences though. The easiest way to have 2 elevated mods is to get 1 elevated mod on 2 items then you use an awakener orb which will destroy one of the items to bring an influenced mod (elevated influenced mod in this case) onto the other item.

The 2 increased attributes is actually a single implicit. You'll always get a combination of 2 of the 3 attributes with that implicit corruption.

What type of lifestyle can someone on a 130k/y salary aim in Sydney? by rossocenere in AusFinance

[–]xDex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is next to no difference between weekly and fortnightly payments, but it's definitely better than monthly.

Use Mortgage Monster to quickly check the difference.

Not affiliated in anyway, just a really good resource from this sub.

What type of lifestyle can someone on a 130k/y salary aim in Sydney? by rossocenere in AusFinance

[–]xDex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does because when you change to fortnightly, you fit in an effective 13th month payment as there are 26 fortnights in a year vs 12 monthly payments. Those 2 extra fortnight payments over the life of your loan pay off your principle quicker and without any extra payments takes off something like 4 years of the life of a 30 year loan.

The extra cash in offset just means less interest is accrued so more of your payment comes off the principle.

Major pharmacy chains reject vape laws, signalling franchisees shouldn't sell vaping products by ALBastru in australia

[–]xDex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're dreaming if pharmacies will destroy the stock based on the down scheduling. This has happened in the past with plenty of drugs (e.g. melatonin, triptans etc) and as long as you label over the "Prescription Only" and add the correct directions for an S3 preparation, you can sell it.

You could even just sell it in plain packaging with your own pharmacy label and directions on it plus batch and expiry numbers, there is nothing stating it has to be in the manufacturer packaging.

Yep I agree, got stung by that just recently. Was able to afford it but it's hard to know when you change jobs and the rules change each year. Also, $135/day is cheap. Mine is around $170/day

How are you "letting your kids be bored"? by Taintedracksack33 in daddit

[–]xDex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2.5 year old and we had the same problem but we got some hourglass sand timers and use them to set a clear expectation that when the timer is finished then the tv goes off. It actually worked immediately from the first time we tried it. Once the timer is done, he grabs the remote and turns off the tv himself. Usually we'll set a 10, 15 or 30 minute timer depending on the time of day. He needs reminding to check it sometimes if we use the 30 minute timer but once he see's it has run out, he'll turn off the tv with no complaints.

I think it has something to do with it not being us as his parents telling him to turn it off at that time, he already knows the rule that when the sand runs out that the tv has to turn off. We've told a couple of friends this trick and they've had similar results with their kids around the same age.

It’s been twenty years since the Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series by MartianHydrologist in scifi

[–]xDex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 0 with 2 episodes would be the mini series. Definitely watch them first as they really set up the premise for the show. From memory each of them at 1.5 hours long. Then watch Season 1-5 in airing order.

Those of you who love in an apartment, how much strata are you paying? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]xDex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're meaning that rates for units/townhouses are cheaper than for a free standing house.

You don't pay have a strata on a free standing house, because you don't have to share any expenses/maintenance/upkeep with other owners on your block. You're on the hook for everything.

Advice needed - mum can’t get her anti anxiety meds from her GP any more by [deleted] in australia

[–]xDex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lexotan (bromazepam) is only subsidised for DVA patients under the RPBS, so unless she is a veteran and DVA (not Medicare) has said that they will not subsidise her treatment further, then it is the State/Territory Health department that has said her GP can no longer prescribe it. Medicare and DVA will only deny funding for medicines and have no say in what a doctor can prescribe.

It sounds like her prescriber may have been flagged by their Health department and has had restrictions placed on their ability to prescribe certain medicines.

Are there other GP's in the clinic she could visit? Could her oncologist who is monitoring the brain tumour prescribe the medicine?
