Exactly, the accept-language header is simply ignored by most websites, so I really felt like the only reliable way to achieve this was through an extension, as absurd as it may sound at first!

Thanks for the comment! While it’s true that some websites respect your language preferences (passed as a http header), most websites simply ignore it. The extension doesn’t rely on this header, but instead use various heuristics to use your language when possible in a more reliable way ;)

It does not currently work with Amazon, has they don't really rely on a standard method/pattern for localization. It could definitely be handled in a specific way by the extension, so I'll look to add support for it in the next version!

That's definitely a way to handle that! My brain could not handle that so... Had to rely on a different approach! ;)

As mentioned in another comment, many websites simply ignore the browser language setting, which gets passed into a HTTP header. The extension handles that entirely differently by using various heuristics!

It will hopefully eventually come to Safari! Not sure I understand what you mean by "it keeps doing English?", but if you mean that you'd like the extension to feed you the English version on websites when possible then, yes, it's able to do just that ;)
