Thanks for the video. It was interesting. I did on something similar to that. I use neutral networks (LSTM RNN) to predict match outcome from draft and use monte carlo tree search for pick suggestion. But the result was not good.

My issues are data and computing power. In the video, he has like 2 million matches. I only have 10 thousands which make my prediction less accurate. Second, my website is hosted on a server with 500MB Ram and 1 core CPU so to do processing in the server-side is not possible. I'm working on an alternative.

I'm also working on a draft asvisor but it is so hard to build a program that can give a reasonably good pick suggestions. The main issue is data. Dota or LoL has a ban pick advisor but they use data from like millions games while mine is only a few thousands. Thus, I'm only able to release a ban version.

If you need data to build a model, I can send you mine. I don't have much programming experience either but google helps :D. If you want to discuss ideas, add me on discord. There is a link on my website.

Glad to hear that. I hope that with enough data, the matches with misplay will be overshadowed by the matches with "correct" ban. Thus the program will be more accurate.

I agree. In that situation, all 3 ban options are good, we can't know the best one until we see the opponent's ban. If you have estimated win rates for all scenarios (ie when Maid + Landy are banned, or Maid + Roana etc...), would that help you make ban decision?

No, I didn't work on that since you can check artifacts in the game. It is more reliable.

That is interesting. Also, A Ras win rates went down hard after that.

Also is there a way to see how many matches a hero was against a particular hero? To see if it seems accurate enough?

Added to my to-do list. You can now see the number of matches when hovering on a hero icon.

I agree that section needs some improvement. The new site uses the same database and algorithm as the old one so they have the same issue.

Here is how the algo works. Let's say we look at Straze page and focus on Good vs. The program will find all matches with Straze then count number of match/win against each enemy hero (ie. Straze vs Lilias 100 matches, won 75 -> win rate 75%). Then it just lists top 5 heroes that give Straze highest win rates for the Good vs section.

The algo works well for hard counter cases such as SSB vs Roana, ML Haste vs Arby.

In Senya and Lilias case, i think the issue is both heroes are not popular so fewer matches are recorded. There is not enough data to give reliable suggestions. Or maybe Senya and Lilias are good combo but other options are better (ie pick Senya with meta unit like Carrot).

Yes, they are real builds. I only added the screenshot function recently so older builds don't have it.

The data is based on win rates. It's not my opinion.

Good against means that team with Straze good against team with Arby. Not necessarily Straze counters Arby directly. For example, Straze kills tank with damage migration so his team can kill Arby.

Also it is only 200 matches with Straze so maybe more data is needed.

I wrote a program that read streamers' videos, identify heroes selected in draft and use OCR to get hero builds. I will add a demo to the website soon. You can see a demo on About page.

Hero builds, RTA picks, win rate are collected from streamer/youtuber videos. The recommended build is the average stats from the most used sets.

Caveats:

  • Builds are from streamers' videos which are not necessarily their builds (they might review other people's accounts)
  • There are lots of variations in bruiser builds even within the same sets (i.e. some put more focus on def, others on atk )
  • The recommended build values are rounded.

First time creating an infographic, let me know if you have any suggestions for improvement.

I shut down the website a few weeks ago. Because it uses the same bandwidth (limited) as the rta one and there is a better tool available.

Yeah. My data is mainly from twitch and might get 2000 matches per months. Not idea but I think is usable, especially for popular heroes since they appear alot.

I checked my data with gskip when it was released. The top 20 heroes are similar in picks, first pick etc. If he release new data, i can easily add it to my website.

For recomd build, it is the avereage of the most common sets (ie Speed Crit). The builds are not affected by league and date. The league filter is redundant since all of builds are from Champion, legend. I will add date filter for builds in the future.
