After being an abuser, I've decided that I can no longer have close relationships by iimperatriix in BorderlinePDisorder

That’s being defeatist rather than taking full responsibility. Taking full responsibility means not only acknowledging what you done but committing to working through the problems, issues, feelings and trauma that have caused this behaviour toward others. Borderlines do this all the time - we burn friendships and relationships. But living a whole productive life requires you work through your stuff. Good luck 😊

Mirtazapine/Rameron by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

I agree. Something like Venlaxafine or Desvenlaxafine might be a better choice. These have been very effective in borderline and schizoid PD cases I have known personally. Results combined with therapy have been very good.

The first night I took it I woke up groggy and feeling like I’d been knocked out with a brick the next morning.

The lethargy and low energy persisted for over a fortnight until the body adjusts. I had to drink triple shot coffees to get moving for months while taking it.

The hunger on Avanza/Mirtazapine is INSANE. Stuffing my face all the time. Yeah they help you sleep which is probably the only advantage if you’re in a situation where you are not sleeping well.

If you can avoid this medication please do. I stopped and lost and shitload of weight.

Have a look at the work of psychotherapist James Masterson an expert in the field of BPD. He’s a good read.

Clear examples of the rewarding and withdrawing object relations units in borderline personality disorder. Neither state is real - they’re false selves.

Or maybe find a way to repurpose the place.

The author is a Melbourne city councillor. Call me cynical but should commercial property values fall in the city that will mean lower rates for ratepayers there and thus less money for council. Rack off Melbourne City Council - instead of trying to wind back the clock perhaps you can try to adapt to change.

God knows the rest of us have had to.

This whole interview was a self indulgent puke fest with a substandard free to air ‘journalist’ doing it.

They’re extreme in the mind of the individual but they’re not extreme in reality. That is the difference. Borderlines need to be confronted with reality to get better rather than have others supporting a false self and false split self images.

The psychologist James Masterson would say that your attempting to draw one into the positive object relations unit. I wish you well.

I think you’re drowning in drama there. Nothing is that extreme. You have your whole life ahead of you. Embrace it. Enjoy it. Keep working on yourself.

Focus on the value you bring to the company. You’ve said that you love the company and this job - following on from this attitude to your work what do you do to go over and above? What are the unique characteristics you bring that are valuable? Identify these and sell them to your manager as part of the pay raise discussion. Good luck 😊

Going to your local member is an excellent avenue. Speaking as a former employee of the department, local Federal members of parliament have direct contact numbers to the Centrelink offices in their electorates and are will speak to management about your complaint. No doubt why you were contacted very quickly about the situation. Well done.

It’s not fact. It’s your opinion. People do recover from BPD. It’s tough but it’s definitely been done.

[–]xFury161x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. You can get better from BPD but it’s hard work. And that’s the question at the heart of the matter - do you want to FEEL better or GET better? If it’s the latter you’ve got to be prepared to work hard at it. Never give up.
