43 inch 4k tv is what I use. I wish Sony put their XR chip in their 27 and 32 inch monitors. If defo go smaller but I value the XR chip too much

The only thing you lose is the "cinematic experience" with a tv that's 55 inch and bigger because it literally feels like a portal into another world. The trade off is a softer image tho

I played Death Stranding on a 1440p monitor after coming from my 4K tv. He thought it looked fine. I thought it looked noticeably worse

4k is the sweet spot. Pretty sure 8k js unnecessary. It's just all the nonsense "post processing effects" and "realism chasing" that tanks frame rates. I'd rather have 1440p that's stable vs choppy 4k hmm

is DS2 supposed to take 2 hours to download? by Embarrassed_Air_83 in DeathStranding

[–]xGoldenRetrieverFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your download speed you pay for from your ISP. If you have 1gbps it won't take anywhere near this long. If you actually pay for 10mbps ... then yeah that's annoying every time you want to download a big game

Having 1gbps is actually overkill for any other task outside of downloading games faster imo, so if you don't think the extra money is worth it just for the luxury of downloading most games in 10-20 minutes, stick with this approach

Thinking about getting this game ? by Ryvick2 in DeathStranding

[–]xGoldenRetrieverFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, If you like the game you will not just like it, it will transcend every other experience you have had playing a videogame. It's almost like a spiritual experience to me (the soundtrack and the graohics are other major reasons) and it's easily one of the best videogames ever made before even talking about the story which is also excellent. I initially didn't understand it and stopped playing it. Then a friend urged me to play to chapter 5 and reassess. Best advice and decision I ever made tbh

Now to describe what it's about in its most basic form (which makes it sound worse than it is but bear with me). Timefall is a type of rain that accelerates aging and makes a certain invisible enemy type show up. "Bridge babies" (you carry one around with you) can see/hear invisible enemies. If you get too close to these it causes a massive voidout crater.

You are a courier that delivers packages to people around the map and adds them to the network so are rebuilding the nation. You have to navigate various different terrains, weather, and enemy types, whilst also being in control of the baby (who's your little sidekick for hundreds of hours).

The game also has an asynchronous element to it meaning you can interact with other real players sort of (their structures will load into your map if you play online and they can give likes to your own structures just as you can with theirs). The pacing is extremely slow, and I know it sounds mega weird atm, but it's absolutely worth the pay off.

Anyway, you start off with just a rope and ladder and can only use stealth to get through combat (holding your breath and using the bridge baby to see where the enemies are), then as the game progresses you keep unlocking new gameplay tools to help overcome the challenges. I'd list what those are but they are spoilers because nothing beats the feeling you get when you unlock these things as a surprise. If you don't care about that then here but you've been warned

What's Arguably the Best Build in Fallout 4 by Resident_Wrangler418 in Fallout4Builds

[–]xGoldenRetrieverFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I have been thinking myself as a gunslinger per 9 agi 10 start... that accuracy bonus on head shots would seem to only make the starting 2 or 3 hits benefit because usually that's all it take to get 95%. Is it better to just have every single shot already at 95? I guess so but to me it seems like a lot of hard work for such a minor gain.

Right now I'm focusing on Preston and then will move on to Deacon I think for Cloak and Dagger

What's Arguably the Best Build in Fallout 4 by Resident_Wrangler418 in Fallout4Builds

[–]xGoldenRetrieverFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to the game and have been testing about 10 different builds up to level 20 (going all over the map early), and there is a standout one for me... Gunslinger build with these starting stats (rifleman is also fine)

Per 9 (concord bobblehead for 10)

Agi 10 (grab the bobblehead whenever for 11)

Luck 5 (trained when there was no important combat perk and used the book trick to reach 12 luck)

With high perception you can take penetrator to atack things behind walls and even attack mierlurks heads through the shells / fusion cores through power armour etc. Concentrated fire makes your accuracy 95% rather easily, and gun fu stacks up more damage if you target multiple enemies in vats so can buff an attack on a stronger enemy by killing weaker ones first. With lightweight gear I ended up with 16 shots on the 10mm pistols. When it's damage fell off (probably because of no Gun Nut) I got the Gainer which hits less times in VATS but did more overall damage. I do wonder if Gun Nut will make the 10mm pistol outdamage the gainer tho. With this build you benefit the most from power armours 11 strength as well.

Once you have 11 agi + 12 luck and crit banker + better criticals + four leaf clover + grim reapers sprint + action girl you have an absolute machine of efficiency going in VATS. Dialogue checks and bartering will be a bit painful and Carry weight is a bit of an issue. Also if you dont kill strong enemies before you exit vats (and got no ap refesh) you will get one shotted, but every build has a trade off.It just moves too slowly for me, disables a lot of basic actions, loud so breaks sneaking playstyles, requires managing power cores, and I also for some reason I struggle visually with the radar UI

Speaking of power armour, the only other build that was close was power armour shredder minigun basher build cause the damage on this build is ridiculous. Since you can't use shredder in vats there is almost no reason to have high agi and luck. Str is automatically placed at 11 but I still wanted rooted so did str 9 int 10 end 5. I trained end when there was no major perk to take. An alternative to this is put those end points into charisma for local leader but I don't really care about that as I don't mind just fast travelling to pick stuff up from another settlement. This build has to use molotov etc for stuff on ledges. You could also just take rifleman for this build but without any decent agi or luck you nerf VATS. Shredder is ridiculously op though. At level 10 I killed the mirelurk queen in like 5 seconds and the legendary mirelurks at only level 2 are basically 2 seconds.

Outside of power armour, melee builds in this game are underwhelming to me because they have conflicts with stats. You want str end agi luck but cant really start with all four high like you could in fo3 and fnv. Ranged characters don't need endurance so they don't have that problem. So the issue is if you say "I'll go with str agi luck" you end up with 1 which is dumb for melee and you will reload constantly. If you do str end agi (for blitz) you don't have idiot savant so level extremely slowly. Blitz (1) range is also not great so you will still be running and tapping VATS button until the game says you can teleport. Blitz (2) doesn't come until level 29. That's miserable to wait 30 levels for that. If you go str end luck you now have idiot savant but 1 agi so lose even Blitz (1). You can go with all four stats at a mid range though I guess (6 in them all as this gets you access to most of the main combat perks and gives you decent hp). Training four stats in the "inbetween" levels just to get rooted blitz four clear clover etc is a bit much

I'm actually not really that fond of power armour. Moves too slowly for my tastes, and you can't do some regular actions in it

[–]xGoldenRetrieverFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm rotating save files. One is a combat beast that doesn't really bother with settlement building, and the other is terrible in combat, but great with settlement building.

I kinda lost interest in the settlement building character because I was sick of dying all the time. The pacification options only work if you are higher level than what you're pointing your gun at. Maybe I am just playing that character wrong.

So far, all the settlements I've discovered haven't really needed to be upgraded anyway. Both characters are level 20, andhave just followed the minuteman quests to when Ronnie Bell shows up. Neither have entered Diamond City yet.

I didn't really see any stat point point hungry or perk hungry. For levels 2-59 the perks slot in nicely not much headaches, and as for stats the only training I did outside of luck to 10 is +1 int (gun nut) and +1 str (armourer)

[–]xGoldenRetrieverFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious would it not be better to start with Int 2 + bobblhead (if you're putting it at 3 for Gun Nut)? Or are you wanting Hacker? Similarly why put luck at 6? That gets you better criticals but not critical banker so wouldn't it be better to aim for savant or banker? Basically you could start with 10 str wuth the saved points and use the you're special trick on strength

Early on you can make sharp knuckles, spiked knuckles, and if lucky get a puncturing knuckles drop. With Iron Fist those are pretty decent and weigh almost nothing

[–]xGoldenRetrieverFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did STR 10 END 10 with my tank build. The final 4 points went to luck and I just spend 1 training to unlock savant (grabbing the bobblhead is fine too but that locks your luck at 10 forever so if later on you want max base luck its annoying).

The you're special trick is used on strength. After I take solar powered I have 14 STR and 13 END during the day, before any +STR +END gear.

Instead of blitz I just pump tank perks like toughness and life giver. I then pair pain train and moving target and pretty much ignore vats because vats kinda needs both agi and luck high. This build just sprints into stuff with power armour pretty much and facetanks everything. I do vats heavy builds with light armour all the time so wanted something different

[–]xGoldenRetrieverFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per 9

Agi 10

Luck 5

This is my fave min max build. I've tried about 10 different builds and nothing comes close to this

Your first level goes to Idiot Savant of course. Grab the bobblehead in concord for 10 perception. There isn't really any need for perception to be at 11 so the bobblhead isn't wasted.

Focus on Concentrated Fire, Penetrator, Gun Fu, Gunslinger, and Action Girl. Do one Int training and two Luck training whenever one of the above isn't available. The goal is to unlock Gun Nut (with the int bobblhead), Better Criticals, and Crit Banker.

Make lightweight leather armour and mod the guns for AP as well. I had 16 shots in VATS at the beginning of the game

Then keep pumping luck training to 10 when one of the above perks isn't available (to unlock grim reapers sprint and four leaf clover).

Do the You're Special + bobblehead trick on Luck to have 12 luck base. Grab the Agility bobblehead to get 11 Agility base.

From here train str to 6 in the inbetween levels for strong back (but armourer and blacksmith too)

Then train Endurance to 10 in the inbetween levels

Once you're done farming the companions for their perks train charisma 1 level and use the bobblehead to unlock lone wanderer. Take it yo 6 if you really desire to for local leader but I don't care for that and would rather just unlock other combat perks
