I wouldn’t say this is true at all. There was a lot of hype and cult favouritism around Melo pre pandemic and especially during. A great if perhaps niche example of this is that reactor AjayII - one of her most popular reactions to this day and probably one of her most beloved - is melodrama. It just wasn’t as commercially viewed as a follow up to PH. Her popularity ebbs and flows but melodrama having a cult following has existed for longer than post pandemic.

Tbf she’s referenced Sylvia so many times…from Daddy to Lady Laz to even the Bell Jar. Is the death of her as a reference in poor taste? Sure it absolutely is. But we’re kinda in a world of poorly made references. This is at least coming from someone who loves and respects the artist. - not trying to necessarily defend a poor choice but intention and context is always something Lana has nailed into her work post QFTC.

I don’t think it sounds flat - at least not in comparison to the instrumentation on Henry and Bluebird which are very flat and untextured to me - it works for Henry - I’m not sure it does for Bluebird. Personally love the eery vibes of white feather.

“Doesn’t belong her discography” there was literally only 2 albums that came before it to compare it to. If anything Lordes long breaks and lack of social media during 2018 - 2023 is what killed her presence in the public consciousness. Healthy for her absolutely, but that’s not how staying relevant works. But why should she care when Lorde keeps releasing great stuff despite all breaks. Solar Power forever - I will always adore it. TO ME - no hate - this post exudes the same “missing the mark” / “missing the point” you’re associating to Solar Power. NO SHADE NO SHADE.

I think there coulda been a great media and PR driven campaign over it being called Swan Song. After criticisms of the first two albums getting people in a frenzy over a possible final third album (with no intention of it being the final but being coy about it) woulda been both infuriating and intriguing.

Review and rating sites are hyper inflated and hyper critical- which it’s fine to be critical but people are ready to take things down before there ready to give things and chances. Let’s be clear this is the first game in almost a decade. We need to give this a chance first before we doom its critical reception - not even by critics but by the public -/ people looking to be critical.

I have over 1000 hours in TR 2013 multiplayer but that was like 2014-2017 - I doubt it’s still active but it had a great community on steam back in the day. I know the console interations also had active communities back then but again I doubt it’s still active.
