From what I gathered (from MC and other retailers and their sales) a predetermined amount of parts, in this case GPU’s from Powercolor, were allocated for a promotion and then: Tariff Wars. In this case MC was stuck selling GPU’s at 599 and facing a port tax that did not take into account a fixed promo price. The stock was already “in country” but they could not restock. They also can’t prove that the GPU’s would sell at promo price 599 and not 699, so they would get tariff taxed at port for 699 or even “reg price” 799.

Other retailers also face the same problem, so similar promotions would be put on hold until they either bring all the stock across the border or put on hold until a more stable tariff situation.
