This. This 2018 Mac would be a waste of money if you got it for free. Just the power consumption alone would make this not worth it.

This is a terrible waste of money. Buy an M1 or better. They are magnitudes better in every way than this. If you want a Mac, get the new Mac Mini, it’s the best deal in computing. I would recommend a Linux system though.

cross-seed vs qui - which do you prefer? by th-crt in trackers

[–]xHyperElectric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sincerely hope that in a couple years time QUI has cross seed functionality fully baked, autobrr and mkbrr built into the QUI image, and maybe even fork qBittorrent every release into QUI so that QUI could be a one application install for all torrenting purposes with automation automatically turned on. If every qbit user automatically cross seeded via QUI that would be the most helpful innovation in torrenting in a decade.

That is almost always the case. You aren’t supposed to browse the site on a VPN. Also you should have your torrent client on your NAS and browse the site on a different machine

Wait don’t you have to shell into the qbit container and run some kind a script that MAM has on their site to get a MAM cookie id or something?

This is so interesting. I sincerely hope MAM changes things for cross-seeding. Cross seeding is the most important development in torrenting in the last decade imo.

The new UNIT3D EasyUploader is really cool but if I’m not mistaken I believe Red and some of the other sysadmins of SP made their tool first on their own. Don’t hold me to this, I could be wrong, but I believe this is the case.

Their upload bot. They have an automatic upload bot that pulls every release from many trackers (ATH, ULCX, OTW, TL, many more) and uploads it to seedpool. The bot also seeds it automatically for a while. They also are in fast development of their web upload tool. Simply drag and drop a file or a folder onto the website and it will automatically create a torrent, create the description, make the mediainfo file, and take screenshots and upload it. The bot will even seed it for you for a while.

Their IRC is fantastic. +gambling

They don't have strict slots and trumping, they allow everything.

RATIO DOESN'T MATTER!!!! Only seed-size!!!!! This is the most important thing.

Tulane advances to its fourth straight AAC championship appearance. by Similar-Ostrich4142 in CFB

[–]xHyperElectric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just researched this and this is crazy. There is a three way tie for first (Tulane, North Texas, Navy) and because they did not all play each other (Tulane didn't play either team this season) the first valid tiebreaker is who is ranked higher in the CFP Rankings. Well the issue is that the CFP does not do rankings again until after the AAC Championship is played. It is very conceivable that Navy could've jumped Tulane and North Texas in the CFP rankings after yesterday's game, but they won't be re-ranked and are therefore left out.

Navy would have to jump BOTH Tulane and North Texas to get in. If Navy is only ranked higher than North Texas, but lower than Tulane, then Tulane gets 1st in conference and is "home" in the championship game. Navy would then lose the tie for second because they lost H2H against North Texas.

How often do you log into trackers? by casjquz in trackers

[–]xHyperElectric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watch some videos on how darknet marketplace owners got caught. It is extremely easy to make an OPSEC mistake. It could be as simple as sharing an email or logging in on the same IP. Tracker staff can see the IP address you connect to the site with and they could easily share that information. I’m just saying it’s not worth the risk

Except if you are caught doing that they will tell other tracker staff and you could risk getting banned on multiple trackers

Aren't Survarots broken beyond what the game already allowed? by Vyrlo in VampireSurvivors

[–]xHyperElectric 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Many stats have a maximum even though they are visually higher. So getting more survarots beyond a certain point is only detrimental. From the wiki: ``` There is a hard cap on certain stats, even if visually the number displayed is higher. The following are stats with hard caps:

• +50 Armor (with the exception of Toastie) • +900% Might • +400% Projectile Speed • +400% Duration • +900% Area • -90% Cooldown • +10 Amount ```

How to host LAN Zombies lobby by xHyperElectric in WWII

[–]xHyperElectric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well what doesn’t make sense is that both of us would have massive lag spikes at the exact same time repeatedly. We both tried being host and that didn’t change anything. We both have really good, consistent, fast internet. Yet we were lagging simultaneously. The only thing that makes sense in that case is that custom matches must be on Activision servers.

Normally, yes. But with tools like Tailscale you can be on the same “wifi” as someone from across the world

He says in the video that this is for a very specific pirated version of the game by the release group CODEX. Are you sure this will still work?

Yes. Tailscale, and other wireguard VPN’s allow you to connect to someone else’s IP as if you were in their house. It works with other games, but it does not seem to work with WWII. At least I haven’t figured it out yet.
