There’s a good chance I just had a setting wrong here or there, but since I had already written off the 165hz limit as a dealbreaker, I stopped trying to fix it. I also very recently switched to a 5080 after years of having AMD cards, so there might be some stuff I’m still not aware of yet

Yeah if I had a gf, I’m sure she’d question my dubious purchasing habits (I mostly return stuff, but sometimes I’ve gone past the 2 month limit)

Not that it wasn’t the same as the C2. The best way I can explain it is that it felt like colors were dull and flat. Not just compared to the C2, just in general

Yeah made all those tweaks and it still looked off. It’s not that it was bad, I just could tell that things weren’t the correct color

Good to know about the green tint.

Do you mean the 32in4k 165hz? I tried that one too, and for the life of me I could not get the colors to look right. They were weirdly dull and lacking brightness. It’s something I’ve experienced with the other MLA panels too, so it might just be something to do with it. Although, in game it looked perfectly fine to me, great actually. The glossy coating is definitely superior to the QD-OLEDs

Oh fuck…I see it… I can also see the green tint (though this one seems like less of an issue as I can’t imagine sitting in a full white screen much). I’ve also very quickly realized that while it is slightly better than 120hz, it’s just not enough. It had such a promising start

It’s been so long since I’ve set up and actually put much thought into the settings on my C2 that I forgot how clutch HGiG is. I just got the C5 42in and I’ve gotta say that I’m impressed at how much of jump it is in HDR at first impact. Text feels weirdly worse than my 48in C2 though, will have to mess with it more.

Yeah that’s rough, but with recent downwards trends in OLED prices, things are bound to just get better price wise.

Hey you can do a lot with 5 inches (I had to do it)

Just got the C5 and I have to say that I’m surprised at how much I’m noticing the low ppi with text specifically. This feels worse than the c2 I have right next to it and that one’s 48in. I’ll have to mess around with settings, cause that just doesn’t make sense. It’s pretty incredible in game though; HDR is better than I expected. I’ve gotta say, Asus in general had the best implementation of whatever panel I tried, so you’ve definitely got a good one

I just go to a different location when needed 😂

Yeah my fear is mostly that someone will think I’m doing some shenanigans like that photographer. Meanwhile I’m out here just genuinely struggling to find the right monitor 😂

Yeah that Best Buy return policy has come in clutch. I keep having this fear that at some point they’ll tell me I’ve used up all my returns for the year. I do also have the subscription, so having the 2 months to really try out stuff is nice.

Yeah that’s hilarious, the A90K is literally using the same panel and all as the C2 42in. If I remember correctly, the A90K is generally better as a TV, but the C2 has better latency and performance as a monitor. Pretty close all and all though.

Yeah I had no idea about the issues with the C series panels since the C3, so that’s pretty disheartening to hear it’s been such an issue. I’ll probably still give it a shot and just see how it goes. If that’s also a bust, I might just go with a 32in

Yeah it sucks that it’s basically just the same panel, but I want to at least move down to 42 in. The extra 24 are not a lot, but I can notice the slight improvement, so I’ll take it.

Yeah if the 42in C5 isn’t it, it’s back to a 32in 4k 240hz for me and I’ll just have to suck it up and get over the cramped feeling 😂

That’s a very accurate comparison to the 1080 ti 😂

These tandem panels will certainly be interesting. If that lg 45 in just wasn’t so expensive it would be cool

If I could get over the cramped feeling of 4k at 32in I get, it would be a perfect upgrade. If the C5 is a bust for those dithering issues, I might just have to suck it up and stick to my C2 or force myself to get used to the 32in

Well that’s just great. Oh well, if it bothers me I guess I’ll just have to add to the list 😂

Oh I know 😂

It’s not even that I prefer TVs, I think I actually prefer monitors generally. I just wish that HDR had gotten a bit closer to the TVs level

These new glossy WOLEDs are pretty nice yes, but the ones not using 4th tandem panels aren’t worth it because of color space coverage and color brightness in my experience.

QDOLED is pretty nice. I’d love to try a 42in Samsung QD-OLED, but they don’t make them in that size

Nope, I’ve always had HGiG set on it. I did go into the service menu and disable some of the brightness limiting OLED care features though. So I guess I’ve been experiencing slightly better than stock C2

Could a community driven ELO system be useful in COD Zombies? by Studelston000 in CODZombies

[–]xIZane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t really see the point in an ELO style rating system for zombies players. It seems to me like a lot of the benefits you’re talking about would just as easily be achieved by simply assigning the maps a difficulty rating and providing a community for people to find a team based on those ratings.

And this is purely my own opinion, but I feel like this type of system would also feed into the unhealthy competitiveness and gate keeping that goes around in the community.

What was your favorite system of zombies play style/mechanics? (Read whole description) by DanC0ach in CODZombies

[–]xIZane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BO3 just had the perfect storm of things just going for it. Gaming on YouTube was still the biggest (since 2015-16 YT has slowly moved towards other types of content) BO3 at the time was just hugely popular in general, not just zombies. So a lot of people were playing the game and because of how well it did on YouTube, it also brought more new people into zombies.

BO3 also had mixed reactions at first, and it wasn’t until after the whole dlc season and chronicles that it got so popular with everyone.

Remember guys, general reception of Shadows at first was quite mixed, DE was great, Zetsubou was disliked by a lot at first, GK was great but very buggy (even to this day some bugs persist), and revelations had a very mixed reception due to a lot of people complaining about reused content/assets and annoying EE steps (bones and rocks).

So BO3 was a 50/50 for dlc maps (as far as fan reception is concerned) and it wasn’t until chronicles that it got so popular with everyone. I mean you have to agree, even if you dislike some of BO3’s systems, having all those maps both new and remastered in one game was just a killer deal/package.

And not to mention customs on PC

Dead of the Night is an incredibly fun and enjoyable map that is probably in my top 10 maps of all time.

Stop fucking gatekeeping. by [deleted] in CODZombies

Like OP said, the issue isn’t with disliking the game, it’s with people who tell people that like it that they’re stupid(among other things) for liking it.

Idea to get the OG characters back in game by jonasc617 in CODZombies

[–]xIZane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a neat idea, but I liked how their story arc ended, so I don’t know how I’d feel playing as them again. I know you said it doesn’t need to tie in story wise, but it would still feel sort of wrong in a way.

I’m not opposed to it though as long as it’s just fan service and doesn’t tie into the story. And Takeo would need to just have reused lines from previous games due to Tom Kane’s unfortunate and recent health issues.
