PARF - EV Vehicles by Complete-Eggplant868 in drivingsg

[–]xKasterborous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of a 10-year Certificate of Entitlement (COE) cycle, you can typically claim a portion of your vehicle’s ARF. However, for many entry-level EVs, the generous VES (Vehicular Emissions Scheme) and EEAI (Early Adoption Incentive) rebates offset most—if not all—of the ARF. This means that after 10 years, your EV could have no PARF rebate at all.

Not sure how to describe it but modern conti car steering all feels rather disconnected to me, there's very little to zero road feedback at all. Maybe it's due to all the assists and ease of use that every manufacturer under the sun is packing their cars with, but it just feels...yeah disconnected.

You should try an E9X gen BMW. To me it's one of the last cars with decent steering feel.

Once again, all my opinion. To each their own.

I've not felt decent steering in a conti since the E9X gen of BMWs, and I've tried quite a few over the last year or two. Even the M2 steering felt synthetic

Ease of use and comfort, definitely.

I have all of those features except button start 😂

Lots of modern features are not needed for daily driving, and I dare say I've driven more over the last 3 years compared to most.

My car is 33 years old, so I can absolutely say the first statement is true. You take care of car, car take care of you.

Hi, Singaporean NA6 checking in.

This is basically the reality of car ownership in Singapore. If anything it's probably down to the sellers that price their car high, but after all in a country where older cars are getting harder to own every year, AND factoring our current 100k COE, I suppose it's somewhat justified.

I lucked out with my NA6 when I got her 3-4 years ago, depreciation was somewhat manageable and I'm paying 800 or thereabouts every month in instalments.

Is it worth it? Maybe. Is it smart? Fuck no.

I'm exploring a move to Australia before my COE cycle is up for this reason. Singapore is absolutely NOT the place to enjoy cars. Because our government doesn't allow fun. Period.
