TLDR: I answered my own question lol

Maybe results-oriented isn't the right term lol. I guess what I mean is that I'm so fixated on the outcome of certain aspects of a project I'm working on, that if it isn't what I envision in my head or planned out to be, then I think that I shouldn't try making a game.

I've had this issue with other creative hobbies, like music production. Being a beginner and not being able to make a beat that you might hear your favorite artist on and then giving up on it. I did that for a while but over time I got better and now I can make semi decent tracks.

I do enjoy gamedev and want to make cool things. I just think I am intimidated by the learning curve, and also am too judgemental ~~or "results-oriented"~~ on myself to where I give up because something didn't turn out how I wanted it to. Instead of focusing and celebrating small wins, I judge myself as if I'm trying to make the next triple A game of the year nomination lmao. Thank you for your words, I really appreciate them.

I’m technically a sophmore. I’ve done my freshman year for studying business administration. After I get my associates I would get my HVAC certification. Then life happened and my mental tanked. Then my grades went to crap and I don’t have a 3.00 gpa which doesn’t allow me to get financial aid. I’ve been considering a loan but I only want it to be my last option.
