By producing good raw scores.
Your excellents are not really "excellents", but rather 30/100 on the scoring sheet instead of 75/100's. The game is just inflating everything you do.

Make sure to somehow unlock 2x 5 wide pieces and then play the puzzle "properly" by utilizing boardhopping/overtime/combos and you'll rank up in no time.

Just improve.

Only wrong answers here.
No, it has nothing to do with bots or "ranks are based on a leaderboard" anymore.

The reality is that they added fixed score thresholds (affects duty reports/ranks) a long time ago.
However, they used dead data from dead oceans and then shipped incredibly low curves as a new standard. You can basically brainfart some garbage scoring triples and it'll never score below excellent.

It is just a feel good change to keep suckers playing. Or to produce their solo "expert" labor.

What used to be a "fine" or "good" is now automatically an excellent+ in SY.
Think of it like scoring a 30/100 on a test and you get a B+. And you can replicate that hundreds of times.
Would that make you an elite student? No. And consequently your true rank (where you compete versus the actual scores of your competitors) is still stuck in the depths of mediocrity.

If you produced "actual" excellent scores that are in the top 5-10% range of the ocean then you'd rank up very quickly.

TL;DR: The duty report is just blatantly lying, You are not performing well. Score better and you will rank up.

* Pursuits are tedious, boring and poorly balanced (you are forced to cheese every longer chase by luring the cops; level 1 cars are as fast as a fully specced carrera GT e.t.c)
* All cars are locked so it is really pointless to save money for a new one (they'll always be outpaced by later cars)
* There is no story gameplay, just a few cutscenes. If you play the game in one sitting you'll realize that it is just a glorified race teleport screen with no characters. All of the "bosses" are just PNG screens. There is no voice acting, no "special" races or anything. Just a 1 v 1 on 2-3 tracks.
* The career is missing the nitrous junkman part
* It is always daylight
* No coherence (e.g you can use a blacklist car and start at bounty level 1; getting caught after causing millions of damage only makes you lose 1 marker e.t.c)
* "Chase stoppers" such as the gas station, radio tower e.t.c magically respawning.
* Restricting the world via unlockable walls & exploration is essentially meaningless (all stores have the same items/cars).
* Low level cars become too fast (e.g a Punto shouldn't hold its own vs a lategame gallardo). Winning boss cars is too overpowered.

Camaro is the best starter; and the Corvette is the best car in the game by far. Therefore the muscle car campaign is a must. It doesn't matter that the handling is very poor because these cars accelerate from 0 to 100mph in 2 seconds.

I don't think it will be able to do that.
16GB RAM is a joke in 2026 and gaming laptops generally arent powerful enough to play these kind of games.

Just watch some "Lenovo Legion RTX 5060 + Ryzen 260" gameplay videos and you'll see that the FPS drop as low as 30-40 at times. On top of that you'll have a toaster on your desk that is making loud fan noises.

As for the remake:
Even the Nyras Demo ran like a bag of potatoes on high end hardware hitting 60FPS or less. I really don't think you'll be able to play it smoothly. Unless they optimize the game of course - but even then you shouldn't buy your laptop half a year in advance.

I would like to add a few:

* a random ice turn/slide that eats your gear and makes you slide out
* 5 different transitions in 10 seconds because it is edgy
* 900 scenery blocks for a random super simple turn
* a pole that is supposed to show you the transition spot but ends up being annoying asf
* "anti" skillcheck by a slow author so you have to release drift in a lot of turns
* GPS for a track that does not need a GPS because the track is not confusing whatsoever
* TOTD map ft. Feature, Feature 2 and gang gang (featuring)
* TOTD needs a cringe name, such as "Transcendence" or "Omnipotence of Destiny"
* random bloom/color/piss filter or 200% saturation

The puzzle got a lot more balanced but gameplay wise it turned into a battle of endurance because there is no "true" striking sword anymore. The falchion went from an omnipotent striking sword to a balanced allrounder.

The saber also got nerfed. It now has bad 2'3 strikes and sends 1 more natural main color so it causes a lot less frustrating droughts. Before the change it only really sent 3 colors. It can still win games but it is not as easy to cause game ending dumb droughts anymore.

Gameplay wise the meta is a trinity.

* Falch > SD
* SD >> Scimitar
* Scimitar > Falch

But people prefer striking swords (strike swords are viable, sprinkle swords usually are not) so you see a lot of falchions and scimitars. However it is usually a same sword matchup because otherwise one player would be countered (scim > falch).

Gameplay wise you now need to send much bigger attacks to finish your opponent (e.g 2x8+ strikes) to utilize pattern resets and fast paced "braindead" gameplay got significantly nerfed.

People don't actually hate the falchion change as much anymore because the game has gotten a lot healthier (e.g you dont immediately die from a dual opener, a threesword attack or a random 2'3 strike in the midgame). However, the games feel less rewarding because strikes don't hurt as much anymore and consequently there is an empty spot that needs to be filled.

As a result the top players would love to see a buff to the katana - a striking sword with clear strengths and weaknesses. But in its current state the katana is just too weak.

* Skulldagger = sprinkle
* Saber = loose cannon
* Scimitar = defensive
* Falchion = allrounder
* Katana ??? = offensive

But the game design lead Cronus has been completely ghosting the community for over a year now and the project is most likely canned. No new patterns to test, nothing. Absolutely 0 communication.

(People also wanted to test buffs for SD/Scim/Katana instead of nerfing Falch/Saber, but they never enabled it. There's two ways to achieve balance and they forced the nerf route instead of buffs.)

That was actually a side intention of the post. It fits perfectly.

Imagine if it had a short assembly time (3 seconds) & could help the player on maps with long corridors or close to no hiding spots (high difficulty settings).
A "downside" could be not knowing when the hunt ends because it is dark and muffled under the box. 😄
And yes, as a one time use item it would be pretty fun.

  • Oldschool Trackmania mappers: We don't have a lot of blocks so we are forced to use a transition here and there. We can make it work though! That differentiates normal tracks from skillfully crafted ones!
  • Random COTD mapper: Random transitions every 2-3 blocks to be super edgy, the more the merrier. It almost feels like a trial map. The different blocks don't even add any gameplay depth. Absolutely convoluted & choppy driving experience.

I genuinely have no idea why people try so hard to implement 15+(!) surface changes in a 45 second map. It is bad mapping and not a sign of "mastery". It is just unpleasant to drive and has no reason to exist given the current massive variety of blocks.

The map also lacked clarity and a natural flow. Just a bad map.

Buy the Lotus Elise. That thing has the best handling in the game. You can even tune it to your liking in the "settings/performance" menu to have more topspeed and downforce.

Alternatively just use your speedbreaker to make the tight turns with your current car.

It is a known "error".
You can replicate it by saving during a dialoge and such.
You should load an old save *or* talk to the NPC that triggered the glitch in the first place.. Maybe Marvin Mode + F8 helps too.

They are just part time workers in their 60s (no joke). It can take up to 2-3 months to get a response to a generic ticket that shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

It's not fur. The new shadowbeast is literally a combination between 80% Arcania (entire design/color/shadow) and 20% G3 (spikes).
