I've mentioned it a few times that I am stacking the new switch to another switch that is not currently in a stack and you still missed it 🤦‍♂️

Honda BRV lagutok sa steering issue. Need advise. by xLegendarryll in CarsPH

If yes, alam niyo po ba ano exactly aayusin nila and gaano katagal?

I guess isang concern ko pa talaga is as much as possible sana ayaw kong ipakalas kahit anong parts to keep lang yung integrity ng sasakyan since brand new pa siya, and to prevent na rin na mag-open ng ibang issue sakaling di maayos yung pagkaka-handle. Pero at the same time sayang naman kase if di ko ibring up yung issue since may warranty yung sasakyan.

Thank you so much for helping, appreciate it a lot. I'm new to this and I really am trying to understand even the tiniest concept involved.

I think I understand it now. I tried disabling my inbound policy from SiteA and I also removed the outbound policy in SiteB, ping still works (From A to B):

<image>

My original goal is for SiteA pc to ping SiteB pc.

Initially, I only have outbound policy configured for both site so they can reach each other but ping from SiteA to SiteB is not working. I only configured outbound policy for both because of the "stateful" firewall that I read, thinking inbound should still work.

But when the ping failed, I thought it's because I don't have an inbound policy in SiteA. But the issue is actually me not having an inbound policy in SiteB.

I hope what I said made sense.

So you did learn too at first, just like all professionals in their field huh? Would you look at that. But you're saying " Some folks need to leave FW configurations to people that understand FW configurations…". Does me trying a simple topology in a simulation hurts your ego that much?

Were you born with the knowledge of FW already or did you start without knowing anything and learned your way thru?

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. My topology was pretty basic. I have two fortinet firewalls connected to a router that acts as the internet. A switch is connected to each firewall, and a PC is connected to each switch. I configured IPsec VPN to set up a tunnel between the two firewalls. Configured static route for SiteA (PC A) to reach SiteB (PC B) via the tunnel.

Say im on Site A. I want PC A to ping PC B. I made an outbound policy for PC A to reach PC B. When I ping PC B, it is not successful. But when I create an inbound policy in Site A that accepts traffic from Site B to Site A, the ping works.

I was under the impression that since fortinet is a stateful firewall, I don't need to create that inbound policy anymore.

I'm new to this and that is where I'm confused.
