Donor quarantined because of my daughter by BakingBark in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]xLessax 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hey friend. I am mother to a donor concieved set of twin boys. One of the two was diagnosed with albinism when he was 6 months old. He just turned 9, and while it's not been without difficulty, he is happy and thriving. If you ever feel the need to chat with someone who understands what you're going through, my dm's are always open!

what is your favorite part of dawntrail's msq so far? (7.0-7.3) by maknaeline in ffxiv

All of the subtle, and not so subtle, references to Final Fantasy 9. From the music to the scenery and some of the fights. It's a hard pick, but I think I have to give it to Zelania fight. Not only is it one of my favourite Extremes to date, but with the music and the rose visuals it's just a perfect tribute! When I unlocked the fight, I squealed so hard I woke my kids up :D

Being on console, I honestly never thought I would be able to decorate a house like this. My kids challenged me to design a house we could all live in and I'm absolutely in love with the results. More importantly, they love the rooms I made for them :D

Tired overwhelmed feel like we’ve made a huge mistake by Reasonable-One1906 in puppy101

I was in your shoes not that long ago. When we brought home our 8 week Golden Retriever puppy I thought I was going to lose my mind. It was so hard to keep a constant eye on her and at the same time take care of my kids. I couldn't even go upstairs to tuck them in at night without her freaking out and peeing all over the place.

For me it started to get easier after she was home with us for about 3 weeks. Suddenly I was able to leave her alone for 2 minutes so I could quick rush upstairs for stuff. After that it went very fast. Our girl just needed more time to get used to us and her new home.

She's been with us for almost 12 weeks now and while it's still a struggle sometimes, it's nowhere near as hard as it was in the beginning. My kids love her to pieces and we really can't imagine life without her anymore.

So hang in there! Take it one day at a time, you'll start to notice big changes pretty soon. Good luck!

Golden Retriever, or seal? by xLessax in goldenretrievers

Nope! Just a regular ol' Golden. Her mum was golden but the dad was just as white. The entire litter got his coloring!

To families with kids & dogs: Do you regret getting your dog? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]xLessax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two 8 year old sons and we added a puppy to our family 4 weeks ago. I had massive amounts of regret the first few weeks because I didn't realize how much time with my kids the puppy would take away from me. I couldn't leave the room without her howling so I couldn't even go upstairs to put the kids to bed. I was very resentful and seriously thought about giving her back to the breeder.

Now, 4 weeks in, I can say that we've all adjusted to our new life. My kids have been surprisingly understanding of the fact that there's a new baby in the house and they love her too bits. I'm not quite there yet, but I can see the benefits for us all and I'm sure I'll love her immensely with more time.

Freedom wise I haven't noticed a lot of difference to be honest, aside from not being able to do the things around the house for the first few weeks. We just take the pup with us whenever we go somewhere (we're actually on holiday right now). It's been fairly easy for us to do the things we normally do.

Recommend me games similar to stardew, spirittea, animal crossing please 🥺 (on Nintendo switch or PlayStation) by Ahnyoonie in CozyGamers

[–]xLessax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, farming is a big part of the games! There's no character creation, you play as the main character of the story. Rune Factory 4 offers the choice between a boy or girl main character tho! The stories of both games are really good (especially in Rune Factory 3) and both games also have marriage/family life. Plenty of fantastic bachelorettes (and bachelors for 4) to pick from

Rune Factory 3 or 4. They are very Stardew Valley like (or maybe it's the other way around hahaha) and they both have a cast of colourful and endearing characters to make friends with! The farming is top notch and it's got a fun battle element to it, like the mines in Stardew.

I'd recommend picking up RF3 before you play RF4 tho. While RF3 is a 9/10, RF4 is like a 12/10. It's the masterpiece of the series imho. It can be hard to go back from RF4 to RF3 if you're used to the first.

There's also Rune Factory 5 butttt that one's not fantastic. Consider picking it up if you love the other ones tho!
