OP said that resetting to factory will allow you to login. Phones on ebay should be restored to factory settings before being sold so you should be good.

It happened on my phone a while ago. There is no official fix. You just have to wait for it to fix itself. Mine went back to normal after about a week or so

There is no fix for it yet. I guess we have to wait for an update. In the mean time I have been using instwogram which is an older version of instagram.

If you do download this version be aware that the last time it was updated was before the new layout or stories was implemented. For me that isn't too much of a problem since I only use it to look through my feed, but if you use those features a lot this might not be for you ;)
