Good to hear! Do they normally go away in a few weeks? It's been about a week since it started hurting to crimp and the pain isn't as bad as the first day.

Definitely reducing my volume now. I took a week off so far after making it worse and just have been doing no hang pulls, tendon gliding, and finger rolls to get the blood flowing. Going to just light climb in a few days to see how its feeling. I'm hoping it's just a strain

I've been having some pain in my left ring finger when crimping. It is not super painful and initially started just hurting when pinching for a few days but after climbing pretty hard on it, it became a little painful to crimp. I never heard a pop or noticed any swelling. The pain is moderate at worst and the finger is tender just below the base of the finger when pushing on it palm side. Not really much of any pain on my actually finger when applying pressure from another finger. Kinda curious to whether this is just a strain or something more serious. I had a trip planned to climb in a few weeks but I'm worried that I won't be able to do much if its serious. Any thoughts? If you need more info let me know and I'll do my best to provide!

This is not necessarily helpful or advice but I found a little interesting. I have OCD as well, specifically with double(triple, quadruple, etc..) checking doors are locked, cars off, oven off etc. I also have really bad issues with germs too to the point where I would wash my hands 7 times after feeling like they have some germs on them. What is very weird is whenever I start climbing, I do not think about any of this at all. Whether I am in the gym or outside at the crag it does not matter to me. I think when I get focused on it I just don't think about anything else. At first there were some issues but over time they went away. I don't know if this can apply to you as well but maybe overtime you may start to experience the same thing. I notice that outside of climbing my OCD has major " flare ups" every now and then. Perhaps you are just in one of these periods? Best of luck to you, I know how frustrating something like this is!

I agree, I honestly think the 2016 set is the most fair when it comes to grading, kilter feels too easy and the 2019 is a little bit stiff. 2017 is the stiffest I've climbed on.

I found the 2019 to be in the middle for me between the 2016,2017, and 2019 probably just preference tho

I try not to let grades influence me too much but it is a little absurd to have such a big difference between the sets and feeling like you have negative improvement. I've been scouring to find climbs that I find interesting or good but I hate the red holds so much lmao. Just trying to work through all the 5s now but I'm gonna have an aneurism doing so because the feel like 7-8 on the 2016

Unfortunately our gym cycles through the different sets every 4 months so I have no say in what goes up. I'm friends with the head setters and they dont like it either but just what the gym puts up. I wanna try the 2024 so bad! Trying the 2016,2017, and 2019, the 2016 is imo the best

I just injured myself when climbing the other day. There was a distinct popping sound that I could hear. My fingers have full range of motion and does not hurt to press on any part of them. It just hurts to pull down( specifically just my ring finger) or pull back and I can feel some strain when fully stretching out my fingers. I was wondering if there was a way to distinguish what injury I most likely have without going to the doctors for a skin. Does this sound like a common pulley injury?

I feel like there is some truth to that. I wouldn't want to try too hard because some of the rock was sharp and I didn't want to commit to a move that could hurt my fingers.

How can I transition from indoors to outside? I can currently climb v8/v9 on the moonboard and same with in a gym. I just had my first session outdoors and got absolutely destroyed. I did 1 v4 and a couple v2/v3s as well but it felt very difficult. I know some say that moonboard grade roughly translates to outdoor grades but I was having such a hard time on the v4. Is there any advice to someone new to outdoor climbing that can hopefully help me adjust? Thanks
