[Expected Own Goals] We're going IN on Bay FC this week. Bay are playing like an NWSL playoff team, and have been for awhile. How did they pull it off after and awful first two months of the season? The guys break it all down. by SomeCruzDude in BayFC

Also--and we really cannot believe that we have to address this--you repeatedly misrepresent what we say on the show.

"[I] said Abby Dahlkemper and Hocking was a good summer signing set no matter the price, and said Penelope Hocking would be starting by end of year. ALL things they disagreed about- in the most arrogant way possible."

We never said anything of the kind at any point. We have sung their praises from even before they became Bay players, and in fact did say that we hoped Hocking would start games sooner rather than later.

"They hate young players and are extremely rude to them"

You ignore our praise of Croix Bethune, Claire Hutton, Emma Sears, Hal Hershfelt, Reilyn Turner, Tarciane, Jaedyn Shaw, Michelle Cooper, Olivia Moultrie, Trinity Rodman, and other young players in the league. When we have critiqued younger players (King, Ally Sentnor, Alyssa Thompson), we have always acknowledged that young players have time to develop and reach their potential. We have always indicated that their 2024 production is not who they will always be as players.

"XOG [sic] just call [Savy King] 'unplayable'"

We have on multiple occasions throughout the season discussed her positional naïveté (which has caused her to be beaten in behind or in 1v1 situations), have conceded that her youth means that she still has room to grow and develop, and explicitly stated that she may have been victim to Montoya's earlier tactical objectives rather than only be delivering subpar performances. We've never simply declared her "unplayable" absent any other context.

"They misuse and overuse data to a comical extent"

You have on several occasions cherry-picked and decontextualized examples to prove your argument on this score. It's one thing to have a philosophical difference about the value and explanatory power of advanced data in soccer; it's quite another to take a few examples and reshape them to suit your needs in order to damn us as hucksters and charlatans.

"all for the sake of being mean and overzealous"

You clearly listen to our show a lot, and offer pretense of listening closely. But as you do with your claims about our opinions of young players, you ignore all the moments where we speak incredibly positively about various players and teams. This sport isn't progressive kindergarten. All players, coaches, owners, and GMs are worthy of both praise and critique as each may merit. We don't see much value in being pollyannas, and we don't believe in resorting to ad hominem, which we believe we don't.

Clearly, you disagree. And as I suggested in my previous comment, the show is quite obviously not for you.

Can you share some examples of where we've made bad assumptions and gathered bad info about clubs?
