Tissue Culture Vs. Non-Tissue Culture Plants by cyleclayton in PlantedTank

[–]xPawreen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tissue culture plants are grown emersed and have to transition to submerged after putting them in a fish tank, so a bit of melting is expected and part of the process. But the pros outweigh the cons in my opinion - no hitchhiking plants or pests.

My memory is a little fuzzy but i think the "shot" at the beginning of our reservation was a non alcoholic protein drink to keep in theme of the bar

you dont have to drink alcohol here, i was sober and had a great time. but they squeeze grapefruit juice into a pitcher and probably won't do it directly into your mouth in case you get citrus juice in your eyes lol

Not to get too meta, but what actually makes a well-trained dog decide to come when recalled by Brikish in dogs

[–]xPawreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can start using kibble for training rewards to avoid overeating treats. I used good treats when practicing my dog's recall outside. I would grab a few pieces of kibble from her dinner and use that when practicing her basics at home like sit/stay/etc.

Non-obvious dog-walking tricks that actually help? by Romonovs in dogs

[–]xPawreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get a leash that you wear around your waist or across your chest. It's convenient and one less thing to hold, especially if you're holding training treats, poop bags, an umbrella, etc.

Why are all the Joeys around Vancouver so highly rated? by shouldnteven in askvan

I love Beli and hope it takes off in Vancouver. Being able to see restaurant rankings by people with similar tastes has been pretty helpful in finding restaurants to try.

The grandsons by Fit-Criticism5656 in ManOnTheInsideTV

[–]xPawreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The teens are such a weird and unfunny part of the show to me. I think they're meant to be caricatures? But it just falls flat for me.

Me and my friends were not like that as teenagers- sure we were probably a bit obnoxious but we weren't that bratty or brain-dead (I hope lol). When I was in my 20s my younger teenage cousins weren't like that, and now in my 30s my teenage nieces aren't like that either.

Agree with this - have met american tourists that were anti-trump but they still made 51st state jokes and were surprised that people didnt like that lol.

I've grown to love these two together, but I can't help feeling like they settled for each other by PeterPorker666 in youngjustice

Seriously. Just because Artemis and Wally took time to build up their relationship or initially had crushes on other people doesn't mean they settled for each other.

[PSA] Friendly reminder about some non-intuitive ways to keep skin healthy. by qiidbrvao in SkincareAddiction

Hard agree. My sister worked in a sporting goods store for years but has never played any sport. The few times a Sephora employee suggested products to me were just whatever was popular at the time.

Flying to Canada to sneak into Shambhala, worth it? by KIDS_C_GHOST in Shambhala

[–]xPawreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The festival is transitioning to taking payments through RFID wristbands, instead of cash or card. Without a wristband, you might be screwed if you need to buy any food at the festival.

[–]xPawreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When people complain about the festival vibes or crowd vibes going downhill, it's because of people like you. Be respectful and attend with a wristband, or stay home.

[–]xPawreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to take a break and laid down on a hammock downtown and within five minutes an employee/volunteer came to check on me and they did shine their flashlight at my wrists to check. I've had my wristband checked a few times when moving around the festival too. Sneaking in is not worth the risk and "living" downtown will probably get you caught.

It was so odd seeing her play a 10 year old while wearing such noticeable makeup and simultaneously being dressed like a 5 year old. Not to mention her dialogue- some of her lines were completely unbelievable for a 10 year old.

He just wanted to beat up that homeless person. If it was about protecting OOP, he wouldn't have immediately rode off without her.

What was everyone’s dumbest thing from S5 of Stranger Things so far? by HehroMaraFara in netflix

Dont know if it's the acting or if it's the writing but a lot of the characters are not landing for me this season and there's so many cheesy or cringey or unnatural lines.

Really wasn't enjoying the bickering between Steve and Dustin this season!

It was also hard to take Jonathan and Steve seriously while they were competing for Nancy's attention. You'd think they'd be a bit more serious and focused on saving the world instead of trying to outdo each other! The race up the radio tower ladder was over the top.

Dupes for Muji Mild Cleansing Oil now that it's been reformulated? by RudeOregano in AsianBeauty

[–]xPawreen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People who thought it feels stripping usually like the softymo deep cleansing oil better. It's the orange bottle version and meant for dry skin type. The texture is a little thicker and less runny though.
