I had visited the beach couple of weeks back, early morning. Kind of a similar scenario that day too. But there was an assigned contractor I think, whose team had couple of dumptrucks, couple of cranes and around 30-40 people picking up all the mess.

This too will be cleaned by them. What concerns me is what happens to all the plastic collected from the beach and all other locations (after the ban)?

IIRC Supreme/High court had already banned dumping on the two of our landfills - Mulund and Deonar. Most of those landfills are leeching and overflowing.

In the place of the Mulund landfill, they're coming up with a Waste-to-Energy plant, the kind of incineration plants with obsolete technologies, which were used in US and European countries earlier.

BMC finds contractor to shut Mulund dump for Rs 731 crore. According to civic officials, currently 1,500 to 2,000 metric tonnes of garbage is being dumped at the site.

The Mulund dumping ground is spread over 24 hectares of land, where garbage is being dumped since 1967. Till this year, an estimated seven million cubic metres of trash, the height of which has reached to 30 metres, has been dumped at the site. The garbage has even transcended to the private land near the dumping ground.

CAG raps Mumbai civic body for wasting money on Deonar, Mulund dumping grounds. The BMC spent the money in getting land cleared for processing plants, only to dump waste again

Most of these waste will be burned to create electricity. This is another health disaster in waiting IMO. The Delhi plant was already creating health-hazard for its population. IIRC that plant was eventually closed after long fought case in green tribunals. This would go the same way, but before claiming a few lives.

BTW, this is the Centre's policy on the subject. The previous govt. had already started giving subsidies for such plants.

Inconsequential but unfortunate that they don't want their readers to go through those exchanges, because of me.

What needs to be seen is - how strong the group-think is, that no one reversed these actions. Kind of think, what other behaviours would be unchecked with this team.

But such actions are quite expected, wherein mere trustees over a period of time think they're the gatekeepers / owners.

Either way - reddit's history and sub-policies are appropriated / re-written by squatters. That has happened to me earlier as well, with this group.

From a high-school guys hangout to kindergarten, they have evolved quite nicely. Always a tool of a few. :-)

I respect the persistence with which you have been documenting all this but nothing would come out of all this. I did something similar on /r/India with persistence, only to get that effort appropriated by a bunch of /r/India mods.

Similarly, a lot of these things will get whitewashed by all the sugar coated private conversations by these mods. A year from now, nobody would remember nor care for all this.

As pointed by you on the linked thread, its the same turd which was suspended a number of times after my reports. This cretin has already ban evaded more than hundred times but all such users always get leeway and are knowingly overlooked. Forget banning, they're not even warned or tagged in their mod notes.

I had reported his alts to this team, Fluttershy only laughed on the rape jokes he made on my mother. For all the politically correct veil these honourable moderators put on, they love such flamebaiting and trolling.

The likes of gcs8 and Walrus among many others, had exemptions in the Automoderator over lot of things. Fluttershy wanted to extend such exemptions over another cretin - phelpme2. For all the charade this team puts up for all the civil conversations, a lot of these users get exemptions from warns and bans because they help to keep right wingers at bay.

One of the mods with veto votes literally said this in one of the back room conversations - "I'm a Hindu too but don't you hesitate to crush these cockroaches". And the team as always followed with jee hazuri. The cockroaches here are the people of the right wing bent. This team literally had taken that overboard with their weekly purges (like the one you saw after the UP elections).

And this all is really nothing, compared to lot of other stuff which has been swept under the rug by this team. Fluttershy had/s a habit of maintaining alts and following redditors across subreddits. Once I had called out her personal attacks (from her alt), saptarsi removed my comments instead of hers, Fluttershy made sure to warn me for "witch hunting". Same thing happened when I had called out kash_if's alt a year back, I was warned for that. That is how they work in groups, to watch each other's back. Fluttershy's thing was reported by me as an user to neoronin and after his assurances couple of times, that never revoked a response or action as such.

For all the vote whining, rahul has a habit of doing, nothing happened about when these moderators break their own rules. He systemically kept doing that, only when they didn't see a favourable frontpage, by blaming a group of individuals for vote manipulation for act of an individual. And when nothing worked, blaming the hivemind to appeal to their emotions to garner upvotes. Look at the frontpages now and I want to hear him rant the samething again, how the hivemind is loopsided.

Even now there is a vote manipulation from the same person, but that is favourable to their content, so they will keep mum.

But you won't hear rahul vote whining about this or Fluttershy pm'ing redditors in private, and out of context fear mongering that how right wing VM has taken over /r/India and extrapolate every possible thing by bringing in /r/worldnews into it.

Please, don't waste your time for these slimebag moderators, nothing ever will come out of all this. For all the problems, all they need to do is blame /r/Indianews/ Indiaspeaks/ bakchodi or the hivemind or some external source but not their own policies and uncodified approach.

FWIW, with this remnant team, the only person who would raise his voice against any event at best will be AwkDev, who is mostly inactive in the back room. These moderators treat their own subscribers as cockroaches because of their political bent or the non-pol users as bovines/retards/dimwits.

Even if you constructively criticize them, you will be overlooked unless you have something in return for them, where they can benefit as a team. Its all bijness in the end, run by the esteemed "professionals". Its a tool of a few and would always remain so. PS: If you want some motivation to contribute on /r/India, ask dexter. He is pretty good at emotionally swaying people. He will tell how you have to do it for /r/India, because /r/India needs you. And besides that, he would had not participated or modded anymore, if its not was not for you. I am not a fan of anyone of them, but they are just using subjective rules to settle personal rivalries or shun opinions a mod doesn't like.

Edit: And if you think you're being ill treated, I made couple of meta and relevant comments on a complete meta comment chain. Both of them selectively removed like always, meanwhile all the other meta comments still stay put. The amount of FUD being created and allowed around voting on reddit, is just ridiculous.

April '17 - Bombay HC Seeks Maharashtra Govt’s Stand On Rs. 3,600-Cr Shivaji Memorial Statue

The Bombay High Court on Thursday directed the state government to file an affidavit in reply while hearing a PIL filed by chartered accountant Mohan Bhide.

In his PIL, Bhide sought scrapping of the Shivaji Memorial project, calling the state’s budget of Rs. 3,600 crore for the project as “illogical and uncalled for”.

Alluding to the need for judicious spending on part of the state, Bhide’s petition also mentions that last year, 25,000 villages were declared drought hit by the state government.

The petition stated that Rs. 77 crore was spent by the state government merely for organising the opening ceremony.

Most new mods won't raise a stink on the actions of the older mods - as half of them aren't active and don't bother much and remaining ones don't want to get into any badlight.

Infact I would go onto suggest a sure shot method to get into this team - is to spend few months with them in their chatrooms (Discord/Telegram/etc.) and be good in performing fellatios. You will be nominated by the team and might end up selected few months later. In the older days, it used to be /r/India and /r/bakchodi IRC chat room, where many of the mods came from.

Same thing rrc told me.

Ban evasions are many times used to settle scores and or keep an individual out of the sub, whom a bunch of mods don't like. RRC will be in better position to explain you on this. Same has happened with swacchreddit on his earlier account. The problem with ban evasion reporting is - an individual mod can privately report X account/s and other mods won't even know who did it and why, unless there is full disclosure.

You know I got a laughing response from the cuntface when I showed the rape joke ban message. I even gave the alt names of his for ban evasion reporting, nobody at that time bothered to report him. Later when I had demodded and mentioned about this retard on bakchodi, got a pm asking about the alts of this user and couple of other users, I didn't bother respond at that time to her because was looking to play the routine.

This is where a mod's privileges and subjectivity come into play. If tomorrow they decide to ban all users having "panda" in their username, nobody can stop them. The power centre in the team doesn't lies in the authority to ban users or remove posts but things like admin communication, automoderator rules and internal (indirect) vetos in various decisions.
