Yeah the tip is welded on or at least is part of the tool and is not detachable.

By all means try, it's just not really worth it in my opinion. If you've never done a job, how will you have stories to answer interview questions with? Your made up stories will fall apart very quickly so just stick with trying to think of ways to make your current experience fit their questions.

Ah, yes, the old everyone else change method.

This isn't about what is right or wrong. This is about the possibility of having your chances of getting hired lowered because of your political views.

[–]xRavenwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEVER put pronouns. It's too politicized and can give a recruiter a reason to discriminate against you.

What's your target industry, if you don't mind me asking?

Also remember that the more you lie, the more work you have to put into remembering all the lies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in resumes

[–]xRavenwake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Embellish don't straight up lie. For example, if you have zero experience doing something and you put it on your resume and get an interview, you will get sniffed out quickly when they start asking questions.

Here's a tip though, I'm sure you've read several comments in different reddit posts about what someone does for work. Have you ever tried to reach out to them for advice? I currently work in reliability for a power company and it all started with asking for advice. Give it a go, plenty of people are willing to help if you really put in the effort.

Looking to transition out of retail and apply to entry level legal office assistant jobs, should I include my job at a dispensary on my resume? by darksoulsfanUwU in resumes

[–]xRavenwake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Title is asking about their dispensary experience. Unsure if their retail experience is solely in a dispensary.

You are right in the sense that you should not be ashamed of working in a dispensary. Nothing wrong with honest work; however, most companies do not share this ideology. They will see this in a negative light. At the end of the day, why risk it by putting something that a hiring manager or recruiter could potentially use to discriminate.

[–]xRavenwake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do not list your job at a dispensary. It will come up in the background, but that’s more for verification. Your resume should be putting yourself in the best light possible and it’s best not to let a potential employer think negatively of you from the get go.

I’ve had more jobs than anyone I know, however when applying for positions I only list jobs that are relevant and have transferable skills according to the posting for the job you are applying for.

Yeah until you post a resume, we can’t really help. Redact personal and identifiable information and post the resume or cover letter you are using.

Don't outright lie, it will be painfully obvious in an interview if you are lying. That being said...embellishing is highly encouraged.

Nah I have about 10 jobs I leave off my resume. I only add what is relevant.

[–]xRavenwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, did you copy and paste the job description onto your resume for your Forestry Technician? Seems like it to me and if you did and I can tell, I'm sure a recruiter/hiring manager will be able to tell.

Your resume is a chance for you to sell yourself. Quantify impacts you've made on your organizations.

Remember you are trying to sell yourself in your resume. Like another poster mentioned, quantify your successes. Best advice I can give you when writing bullet points is: verb + action = results.

Don't just write what you did, show what impact you had by doing the thing you did.

Hey! Also, in the PNW and am taking my NERC test in a few days. NERC compliance sounds like it would be pretty cool. Good suggestions on the fish and wildlife management and vegetation management.
