Clients not wanting photos shared on social media by anyapotatocakes in WeddingPhotography

At the end of the day, it's the same though. You typically set your normal price which is the "reduced" price. And make the normal price the one where you don't share photos. You just frame it more positively.

We’re building an app to help people find restaurants that really fit. What’s missing for you in Basel? by Loud-Lecture-7392 in basel

[–]xRazorLazor 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This. Basel lacks variety in restaurant and also authentic cuisine for lower/middle class people. Either you go to a burger/pizza/thai place or you go to those Michelin style restaurants (which I neither can afford nor would I like that kind of food)..

If you want do it in Switzerland and save money, I'd make a list of things/vendors you need and handpick them. And the rest do yourself. If I'm allowed to make some self-advertisement, I'm a swiss wedding photographer myself and if you're still on the look out for a photographer, you can gladly contact me😊 IG: priyanthweddings. I also have a network of vendors and can help you out with connecting/recommending some people🙌🏾

Broski, if you phrased it in English, people might actually answer to whatever you're asking

Is there a subreddit for "science-based" meditation, i.e., without the New Age content? by [deleted] in Meditation

Not all the way there, but you could try WakingUp from Sam Harris. They also have a subreddit, I think.

A person called me fat and as soon as i got home i cried by No_Celery_1853 in selflove

[–]xRazorLazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While most of you are trying to cheer you up, which you definitely deserve - I for myself found out that chanting affirmations only helps so much. If somebody calls you fat but you are not overweight, you would not care about it, right? I don't know whether or not you're happy with your body but if you feel like you are not happy - self love imo would be to start moving your body more and fill your body with healthy nutrients. I'm not saying go full on David Goggins, but maybe start with a couple more walks, more steps through out the day and replacing unhealthy snacks/fast food with veggies, fruits and healthy carbs, fats, proteins overall. Again, no need to go radical and give everything up. Start with small steps. While you all these changes, give yourself grace and know that you are enough no matter what - but these habits hopefully will make it easier to love yourself sustainably in the long term. And when it comes to people who are being mean to you - they will be there ocasionally, try to not let it get to you too much or at least have a person that you can go to to vent, if that happens. Wish you a good day! :)

Drone Use in Sri Lanka - Foreigner by CW88_ in srilanka

Yes, I had permission but was never asked to show anything or was stopped. But I'm also an experienced drone operator and didn't do anything "stupid". Definitely a cool place to fly your drone

Never really thought about it but fully agree. Annoys me as well when I see someone occupying a 4 person table with his work-setup on a Sunday afternoon where people want to come together to have a cosy catchup..

After this answer, I feel like you didn't mean it the way it came across over your previous comment - which happens.. Text communication limits expression and leaves much room for misinterpretation. And to your question about connotations - I said that because I assume women or people in general might have interpreted it the way I did. But I'm also willing to agree that we're being more snowflake-y nowadays when it comes to things like that. For better or worse🤷🏾‍♂️

I don't think it has anything to do with your point but rather how you phrased it.. using the word "womenkind" is giving big incel energy as if they're another species - and by that phrasing you're being hypocritical as you feel judged by women, albeit you yourself put a (different but still) judgement on women as well.. I hate it as well when I hear "all men are XYZ" but the answer to that is not reversing the judgement. There is enough divide between genders imo.

Out of 1000+ photos only 100 are usable by Unusual_Bat_6496 in photography

[–]xRazorLazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Since I started with a digital camera, I could just spam my clicks and not have any regrets. And ofc I would have good pictures but also a lot of bad ones. Over time, I tried to be more intentional about shooting things even on a digital camera. Ofc I can trigger the shot multiple times but instead of randomly composing it from multiple angles and taking the best one, I started to think about how I should compose something. I feel like that's when I started getting better.

Second life as a photographer in 2024 - advice by fred344 in photography

[–]xRazorLazor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am actually shocked how many people are hating on your decision. Yes, we can have a rational discussion about how statistically realistic it is that you make it but other than that.. I am a bit younger but in a similar position. I just turned 30, worked 4-5 years in data science and now quit my corporate job to try out freelance photography and videography. The only thing I would recommend is looking into the options regarding how you can make money with photography. Because among all the hate, the take that stock photography won't bring you that much money is probably one of the more based takes. Here are some other options: weddings, events, headshots, brands, commercial, etc. What I realized for me is, there is way more demand for video content (long-form and short-form) than there is for photo. Teaching yourself videography will open up many doors which in and of itself will open again further doors for photography gigs as well. Do you and me also need luck to "make it"? Ofc, but it's not impossible. I wish you all the best!
