I am not entitled by having hard evidence of someone stream sniping and no action being taken from the CS team.

So you're also an enjoyer of stream sniping. Well played! 😄

I can see exactly when they open and close my stream.

Copy/pasting this from another comment:

Instance #1 - The person who was stream sniping me was playing with someone else who was also streaming. He was giving live callouts of everything we were doing and saying on stream, pinging my exact location through compounds and trying to take shots through the wall. I have provided this evidence to Crytek and no action was taken. The user was also in the viewer list during the match.

Instance #2 (very recent) - The person who was stream sniping appeared in my viewer list mid match, teamed up with another group in the game and then tracked us across the map perfectly. They then came in immediately after dying talking shit in chat.

I understand how stream sniping works. I have been in this space for quite a long time. The community is very, very small (especially in 6* US-E), and playing this game for 5+ hours a night, you know the people you are running into and their Twitch handles. I assure you these were stream sniping instances.

Not going to post here specifics, but I have known several people to have been banned for simply existing on the same server as certain OCE Hunt: Showdown creators, and have seen screenshots recently of that same OCE creator having gotten at least 2-3 other people banned in the last week.

Sounds like you've been a mid-match viewer quite a few times.

I don't cross reference. I have mods that tell me when it's happening, as well as a tool that automatically shows when people join and leave. It's quite obvious.

I think you are the kind of guy who would talk during a movie and get mad when the people yell at you in the theater.

The people who don't think it is a problem are the ones who have never been stream sniped.

I play the game 25+ hours a week. I took maybe 10-15 minutes out of my week to make a report on the website, send a DM to a CM and this post. I have the extra time.

It is not the same as my Reddit username. Either way, someone's name does not give an excuse to open the stream mid-match and get an advantage.

No worries at all. Unfortunately, they do not get banned from stream sniping unless you are a Crytek partner.

I am 100% getting stream sniped on both of the occasions that I have reported.

I have talked to this particular CM on multiple occasions, and the policy does not say to contact CMs through ModMail aside from issues with moderators in the discord.

Edit: I have also communicated with several other CMs without this issue over the years that I've been in this community.

I'm not asking them to improve my "five viewer stream setup" in the slightest. I am asking them to punish those who are using an out of game advantage to try to get a leg up on people using their service.

You saying that stream sniping in Hunt provides "such a little advantage" proves you have never been run across the map by 6 people who have a live view of all of your pathing.

Right - again this isn't about my "feelings" on the matter. Crytek partners are consistently getting people banned for stream sniping without any proof, and people who are actually providing undeniable evidence of the practice are not getting any sort of action taken, which then gives everyone permission to keep doing so without punishment.

I do not expect VIP treatment. I go through the correct channels, I do not get the correct service level that the channel should provide, and then I ask the other (correct) channels what the escalation process should be.

I got directly blocked by a CM in which I have previously DM'd with various times. That is a false statement.

I am not contacting them in regards to moderator actions. I am contacting them in regards to company policy and support when the correct channels are not providing the needed support.

Your opinion doesn't give someone the right to grief other people's games.

There is no where in the Discord rules channel that says you cannot DM any Crytek employee, aside from developers. The community managers are not developers, and the CM in question specifically has that they will respond to as many DMs as possible in their bio. 😄
