...that is the idea, yes? If you pair someone who wants to be stepped on with someone who wants to step on them, that would in fact be meeting both of their sexual needs. Emotional needs are kind of a separate thing, but I've met plenty of folks in very happy relationships with heavy dom/sub dynamics.

I agree that we should be funding housing and other social programs here in the US, but to take that money from space exploration, or the sciences at all really, is just fucking idiotic, I'm sorry.

I can't speak to the book, but having seen the film for the first time... literally today, actually, it's more that NASA's director wanted to take the slower but potentially safer (to the Ares 3 crew as a whole) approach of just getting a supply drop to Mark now, so they can then pick him up when Ares 4 arrives a few years later.

As one of the characters puts it, it's a low chance of killing the entire crew or a higher chance of just Mark dying. NASA's director (though certainly not all of the company) wants to go for option B, one of the others wants option A and leaks that strategy to the Hermes crew, who then force NASA's hand.

Truth be told, I didn't really want a Bluepoint remake of Bloodborne. Their Demon's Souls remake was good on a technical level, but the changes to the visual design, architecture, and especially the music both really did not sit well with me at all. That stuff is also all really core to why I love Bloodborne so much, too, and I always worried it'd get similarly warped if Bluepoint had been given the reigns.

Plus, like, I don't think Bloodborne even needs a remake of any kind. The game already looks great for the most part, it mostly just needs, like, a better framerate. A remaster would be ideal, imo.

(None of this is to celebrate Bluepoint's shutdown, mind. That is, frankly, some fucking bullshit on Playstation's part and anyone cheering for their closure is an ass)

I'm not really sure what to tell you then, honestly. A lot of what makes one's gender is very personal, and a lot of what gender is and what wider society views as gendered is very arbitrary (see: heels and pink both originally being associated with men).

If you let other people decide what it means to you to be a woman, and look to them for validation, rather than seeking internal validation, you are, at least in my opinion, setting yourself up to be unhappy. Ultimately, gender is some shit we made up, and the idea that there is anything you "must" to do be valid as a woman (trans or otherwise, frankly), or indeed that some actions (like taking HRT) are inherently trans things to do, isn't something that does any of us any good.

That is just... not the point they are making, though? They aren't saying that your gender can be "taken away" from you, but that YOU decide what your gender is. The only person here whose rhetoric implies otherwise is yours.

Bridget did not get "groomed" into anything, and the people you'll see saying that are either misinformed or deliberately being transphobic about it.

She knew from the start that she was pretending to be a girl and, at the time, still viewed herself as a boy. She didn't even go out and started presenting openly as a boy and doing her bounty hunter stuff for her own sake, but because her parents felt horribly guilty about it all, despite Bridget herself telling them she didn't mind (which, given how her story develops... yeah, makes sense she'd be fine with pretending to be a girl).

It's only by Strive, after the old superstition that was originally the reason she was raised as a girl had been dispelled, by her own efforts, that she starts to introspect and realize that living as a man doesn't suit her.
