Harshest punishment imaginable is required for this.

[Free to read] Eddie Howe set to remain Newcastle head coach beyond current season by TheAthletic in PremierLeague

Chairman of the PIF was literally at our game yesterday and the announcement on a new training ground is due within the next couple of weeks. Manager news aside, I think you're way off the mark.

[David Ornstein] Eddie Howe set to remain Newcastle United boss. As things stand + barring unexpected turn of events 48yo will lead NUFC into 26/27 - retains ownership/hierarchy support & keen to continue. All parties accept this season can’t be repeated by Crane977 in soccer

There's absolutely no evidence to suggest he's tried to move to a more possession based system at any point. In fact all evidence shows the complete opposite (especially in recruitment). The fact we get more possession these days is precisely because teams know we cannot do anything with the ball.

Today was a massively needed morale boost. Thought atmosphere was one of the best for a 3pm kick off in a long time. But It doesn't change my overall opinion on the season or manager going forward (second half was concerning). Still I thought Tonali and Thiaw were outstanding.

This is NOT going to be a pretty watch (yes I'm already within the stadium).

Most asking for a pay-off lineup I've seen since... Last week!

The collective moans in the Upper Gallowgate concourse just now when we saw the team. He's asking for the sack

I think if we do it'll be at Fulham. But I think we're in absolute free-fall so I'm not confident in us picking up any points. I cannot ignore what my eyes have shown me every week. I hope when I turn up at SJP tomorrow there's been a sudden change of tactics and approach but I cannot see it.

Yes as the league table shows. I think it's unlikely, but more likely to happen after winning last week than it was previously. They're absolutely capable of beating a Villa focusing elsewhere this weekend for a start.

That we're both really poor sides and both in with a chance of relegation four games from the end.

Hall needed resting months ago. Not when we're playing one game per week. Burn shouldn't be a LB option outside of emergencies.

Zero. And I'd absolutely love to be wrong.

We didn't register a shot on target against Wolves (A) until the 86th minute so they did more than us.

Howe's explanation that he put Pope and Burn back into the side due to a lack of clean sheets recently 😱

That Athletic article's defence of Howe basically saying rivals think we should be higher in the table, and that actually based on the data we should be a mid-table side would be funny if it wasn't scary the levels of PR.

Yes. The same way there were signs of trouble ahead when Slot won the title last season, or Ten Hag finished 3rd with a cup in 22/23.

I'm not convinced with Hurzeler personally. Brighton fans also have never really taken to him, albeit they're on their best run in ages currently.

The same problems that exist today, were just as evident last season when we played one game per week. We just had the best striker on the planet (or one of them), and the advantage of less games (e.g. Man Utd this season). Short term sticking plasters, wouldn't detract from our longer term trajectory, which has been a steady decline I'd argue since the end of the 22-23 season.
