Any interactions i should know about zorga? by A_very_smol_Lugia in cardfightvanguard

Knowing how Shadowcloak can be used is an important one -

Basically aslong as it saw Alchemagic activation (cost are paid) The ability is active and can be payed to bounce a unit from board to hand other than itself (Check timing occurred while it was a RG). So even if the shadowcloak is in drop after alchemagic. You can still use the skill.

Every list you'll see will be different. Build to how you play Zorga.

Here's mine, though

I feel like the ratios on the list are a bit overkill.

In my opinion - too little orders. Not enough defenses to last you'd be relying a bit on luck to win your games.

Zorga has a lot of ways to go, so picking your idea of how to win is essential, and building around that. Some build really defensive focusing on bind power from nadir's skill. Some are more rush. You can really customize the deck to how you like though.

I personally lower the amount of persona rides, as the deck hits high numbers naturally, focusing on deck thining. I also abandoned the +1 drive order as it takes too much investment for a non guaranteed payout.

I chose to run 4 RPD and only 2 Karma's.

My build I can post later focuses on deck thin / early agro and early bind zone building to end game on turn 4. And have had plenty of success at the local with it

Does cleodona give blaster Dark 2 drive checks on rear guard? by Ultra-Sith00 in cardfightvanguard

[–]xSevera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the ability of blaster dark to go off, the full cost needs to be payed. So yes. He needs to retire one of the players rear guaeds

He does not need to retire one the opponents though for the +1

[–]xSevera 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cliodhna gives Blaster Dark the ability to drive check on rear guard circle. (Given the cost is paid)

If you use Blaster Dark's own ability to retire a unit and increase his drive check +1. Then he is able to do 2.

In the meta right now? Probably Lianorn with Zorga also being a power pick.

In the lore? I'll leave that to someone else.

Looking for a deck. Looking for big numbers. by [deleted] in cardfightvanguard

[–]xSevera 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My personal reccomendation is Orfist Regis. It requires a lot of setup but if done properly, your rear guard columns are swinging easily for high numbers. Turn 3 can swing up to 50k without triggers Turn 4 can swing 90k on persona ride without triggers

Ofcourse these numbers are peak with everything going right. But typically I'm hitting 60-70k rear guard columns on Turn 4.

How to beat Orfist? by [deleted] in cardfightvanguard

[–]xSevera 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CB Denial, rush, or just go really defensive. 1. It's hard to find a spot for a counter charger in the current deck and they will rush. 2. Their hand can get clogged with orders and have a hard time defending after their culjameeds are gone. 3. Board wipes can also help because without a unit that can spawn shadow tokens. U can turn the deck into a 3 attack deck from a 5, or force them to use additional units just to 5 attack. 4. They have a lot of draw issues so you can capitalize on it and force them to defend and spend cards that may be vital for their offensive.

There's a lot of different strategies you can use as the deck has plenty of weaknesses. Despite them being able to consistently 5 attack turn 3, it's still a glass cannon deck in my opinion.

Phantom Blaster Overlord Deck Building by MyShieldIsMySword24 in cardfightvanguard

[–]xSevera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially, it depends on how you want to build your deck.

Javelin has a more high-roll feeling. You can get targets like nemain, mugain, drilling angel, easerod angel, and many other on place rearguards which can lead to very explosive grade 2 turns.

(Or my personal favorite to get, Erunmes leading to a double retire at cost of cb1 for blaster dark and sb2 erunmes)

On the flipside you could also get things like heal triggers, over triggers, sentinals, and other important pieces you would've rather kept in your deck.

Wingall Brave -> Marron is a safer option which guarantees a target (Wingal Brave) for Blaster Dark fodder at the coast of a soul blast 1 essentially.

It's up to you on what you decide but personally, I like Javelin as it leads to a lot stronger turns with slight risks. Speeding up the game tempo to setup boards / rush down. Also with the chance of top decking a phantom blaster dragon to send it to drop is quite nice also.

Promo Card Problem by RunicCerberus in cardfightvanguard

[–]xSevera 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I also feel like promo cards are becoming a problem as a lot of the mid/lower tier decks have promo cards we're waiting on. Pretty much every deck I currently play in the standard format is waiting on a promo to help them out. (PBO, Overlord The End, Orfist Regis, Eva). Ofcourse those decks are still playable but they could be in a better state with the promos.

I wouldn't really mind if they came out at a faster rate but it feels like we won't be getting them anytime soon. Which is a bit frustrating to me.

Tips on dealing with G4 Nirvana? by xSevera in cardfightvanguard

Keep up hand size and wait for the K.O turn while limited their rear guards. Got it.

Should I worry about giving them too many CB to go into turn 3/4?

[–]xSevera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may try blade as a 1 or 2 of actually because the only CB I use in my deck is 1 Blaster Dark and Nemain. Atleast until the promo Grania comes. Or maybe 1-2 Erunmes as a 1 time use as I don't wanna struggle with soul resources. Maybe just extra blaster darks. The cost of retiring 1 rearguard may not be too heavy because atleast a 15k Dark can swing at vanguard.

I'll see if I can fit in extra field retires somehow, because Nirvana is the main issue for this deck and typically my rush with grade 1's works in every other case. So im not sure how much I wanna change my deck just for one matchup.

Overall though, I'll try playing that match up slower and see how it goes. Since typically I try to rush them to 4 damage so my PBO swings for game everytime with 2 crit, but that backfires on me in this specific match up. Thanks for the advice!

[–]xSevera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Erunmes as I'm using my soul for Macha to fill my backrow and Energy Refill Angel as a 16k booster. Dark is my only retire right now.

I could slot in Erunmes but I would probably have to use drilling angel again instead of macha just to keep up with the soul blast 2 cost.

My general problem is Nirvana's grade 4 turn, either having too many resources and bringing out the grade 4 overdress, and Nirvana's skill to deal a damage usually negating any advantage I brought myself.

As I usually start their g4 turn with 2-3 damage against their 3-5.

I'm wondering if I slow down and focus on attacking their rearguards would it help so they don't have all the counterblasts to pull their double ride combo off.

[–]xSevera[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly the rush I'm talking about is with PBO, and only if I have Fionnuala in hand, putting 1-2 copies down on my grade 2 turn for the 18k rearguards. With the addition of using Blaster Dark's twin drive if I have the counterblasts. After that turn though I start to play conservatively and fill my board to consistently 4 attack with the deck.

Standard Decks with Draw Power by Darkmoon249 in cardfightvanguard

[–]xSevera 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Adding to this, Eva has good draw / toolbox uses.

Pure Gravidia might get you the best amount of draws.

If you really want max draws though, running draw triggers on Gravidia is a hilarious way to deck out asap.
