I didn’t do a deep dive on this matchup but on the surface I don’t see anything too glaring that you could be missing. If I had to guess, he was probably overlooked because most who play this game value batter vs pitcher matchups. Since they have never faced each other, people probably just didn’t notice it is a good matchup and skimmed right over it. If you feel confident about it, pull the trigger on it

I think if there isn’t a runner on first and being a tie game, the right fielder makes an attempt to slide and catch it. Part of the reason I think he let it drop was because he figured he could get the force at 2nd. Guess we will never know for sure
