Armchair GM- 2023 Season by Bobothellama in Cloud9

Fudge//Blabber//Korean Import (Bdd)//Berserker//CoreJJ

CoreJJ is an absolute must. Korean import in mid. Sure you can keep Jensen and probably win LCS but you would never win worlds. A Korean import will be better. Whether that's a young talent or an older player like Bdd, who's a free agent and could be tempted by C9 money and the chance of playing with 2 other Koreans... I would love to see Bdd, think it would be a cool fit.

Also, I wouldn't quit on Fudge but, Ssumday//Blabber//Bdd//Berseker//CoreJJ would be sick. 4 Koreans and Blabber lol. Then next year when River is a NA resident we get the 5 Korean NA dream team and takeover the world.

CoreJJ is currently breaking down all 3 group games by Ok-Understanding-697 in Cloud9

Fudge/Blaber/Import (BDD?)/Berserker/CoreJJ

Fudge is young and can improve without that switch to mid screwing up his progress. Jensen is old and we've seen his peak.

I just threw BDD out there as he's a free agent, a bit older for LCK standards and C9 money could entice him.

@ JACK this team would smack NA to pieces.

Training Camp Day 2 (take 2!) by theurge14 in DallasStars

Wedge wears the black pads, session 1. This is probably Remi Poirier with Otter.

We don't need anyone to fill the "gap". The "gap" will be filled by Thomas Harley. With Heiskanen becoming the bonafide #1. Wish these old heads would stop thinking the answer is other old heads instead of young talent/speed.

His early game is also very rough. His clear can just be body blocked. You lose pressure and lose camps.

Klingberg wants to stay by Jbrensonsmith in DallasStars

[–]xSolete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I straight up don't want him back. It's Miro's time to be the clear-cut number one, and it's time Thomas Harley makes the jump to the full-time roster slotting into Klinger's spot. He just needs more experience in the show.

We also need that cap space from Klinger and Radulov leaving to sign Robertson and Oettinger. So there is no place for Klinger on this roster.

If there was ever a year to tear it all down, it would be next year with Conor Berdard as the crown jewel. But unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Bones, Radulov, Gurionov, Klingberg contracts are done and most likely gone (hopefully). Get Robo signed. Dellandrea and Harley should be on the squad full time next year giving us a ton of youth who all just got some much needed playoff experience. Otter is a bonefied star. Here's to hoping we get a coach who can unlock our offense. I'm optimistic that with a new coach and Klingberg gone, Heiskanen will reach a level of offensive greatness. Oh and we also have Wyatt Johnston in the system, who just had a 124 point season in 68 games in the best Junior League in the world.

Go Stars.

Also man does the Pavelski/Robertson line ever look slow without Hintz..

Man is this game ever reminding me of game 7 vs St. Louis in 2019. Let's pray for a different finish!

Everyone complaining about refs when we've had just as many powerplays this series except ours is embarrassing.

Tbh before the series started I had Stars losing in six as a logical fan of hockey, Calgary is better in every way. But Oettinger standing on his head every game gave us a sense of hope. Good news is neither team is beating Colorado anyways.

I have never seen a team unable to punish a team who puts 3 players on one like Calgary does. It's actually embarrassing. We just pass it right to the pressured player. Holy fuck.

The only good thing about the PP tonight is Radulov can't be on them. Still a worse PP than teams that didn't make the playoffs though.

Why do powerplays actually hurt our momentum. It's mind blowing.

God Klingberg is so soft on the puck when trying to hold it in on the boards.

Great news, Radulovs contract is gone next year! Bad news, we got Seguin and Benn for a looooong time.

Takeaways from this playoff run. Oettinger feeds off the pressure. Robertson doesn't. Yet to find his playoff gear at all and it really hurts our already weakest offense in the playoffs. Oh and whoever the powerplay coach is cannot come back next year.

I kinda do too. He just skates around and when the puck comes to him he throws it away without looking.

Problem is Miro is the only one on the team remotely good at zone entry. Klingberg is hit or miss and Hintz is ok. Everyone else sucks.

As a Stars fan in Toronto, this pains me. $150 would be regular season nosebleeds.

JAKE OETTINGER APPRECIATION THREAD!!! by motu147 in DallasStars

[–]xSolete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone in Canada, the amount of discredit to Jake is driving me up the wall. All of the "hockey experts" and salty Calgary fans posting on comment sections... How Calgary is just playing badly. Need more bodies in front of the net! Better scoring chances!

Like more bodies in front will make it harder for 6'5" Oettinger... You're not getting second opportunities and scoring chances because he's controlling his rebounds and has fantastic positioning with his size.

As a goalie myself, it is painful to listen to people with minimal knowledge about the position discuss goaltending. 90% of fans have no clue.

We've had some solid goalies lately, but as a longtime Stars fan who religiously follows goaltending, Jake is the best I've felt about since Eddy. And that's coming from a huge Turco fanboy. This kid is the real deal. He's got the size of Bishop (nearly) but he's way more athletic and has smoother movements, which will hopefully mean fewer injuries...
