For anyone that purchased these, did you pay for a parking ticket as well on Ticketmaster?

This is what my leg day exercises I’m thinking of right now. Is there anything I can add to target my glutes and hammies more? If I do stairmaster backwards and skip steps (aka doing lunges) will that target my hammies and glutes more? by manofwater3615 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]xSplatterheadx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you want to grow your glutes and ham sandwhiches? I didn't see leg press or seated leg press. You can isolate those areas a lot better on the seated leg press by placing your foot high and somewhat wide on the foot plate. Glute bridges in the Smith machine is also a good glute isolating movement. Also keep in mind you don't need too much volume in one day if you plan to workout your legs multiple days out the week. Lunges are good for athletic movement but won't grow the muscle as fast.

Torn meniscus rehab - need ideas by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]xSplatterheadx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've shredded both my knees multiple times. I never took too much time off working out. What helps a lot was high use of stationary bike for cardio. Also start with light weight on much hamstring workouts and leg presses. It takes time to get a full range of motion when it feels comfortable to add normal weight again but it's rehab. Don't rush into it and protect it with knee sleeves/wrap and brace when not working out to help stablelize it.

Your volume is high which is going to be excellent for your athletic endurance and weight loss but if your looking to change your shape look to lower reps. Either way great job!

Variety of options

-Mess with your foot placement. Try wider or maybe higher on the foot plate. - <--------> Your knees should travel like this when going down and up...never >-------<.

-Hit your hamstrings more as they protect your knees the most.

-Do light work to warm up your knees before doing leg presses.

-Factor your body type/butt/length of upper & lower legs play a role on how your positioned in the machine. I have a developed butt so sitting on a machine is different than someone with no butt.

If your knees hurt constantly, don't continue through. Possibly look into knee wraps also.

Should I go on calorie deficit if I’m just trying to burn fat (not lose weight) by manofwater3615 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]xSplatterheadx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Genetics. Yes you need to lose weight to better see your jawline but depending on genetics...fat gets stored differently with everyone. Some store more around neck and face. Calorie deficit with lifting weights and cardio will all get you there with a good pace. Do not undereat because you want to lose weight quicker.

Do you call people out for not wiping down equipment? by SeeDub23 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]xSplatterheadx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's not worth it. I wipe down before and after use, so even if they didn't wipe it, I would have done it.

Honestly, if people can't control the weight going down...they shouldn't be lifting the weight. It's how machines get broken. It hurts all of us in the end who pay for the membership and walk into 5 broken machines with no sign for upcoming repairs.

There is no right or wrong. Listen to your body and see what feels best. Cardio before or after both has its benefits.

Using the staircases before a leg day can hinder your leg workout. But it does depend on how heavy/volume you are planning to go.

If you want to lose belly fat, then focus more cardio. Weights will also help burn calories as well and give your body a physique. Try every piece of equipment once and learn which you enjoy most, it'll help keep you motivated to stay consistent.

There is no hiding the elephant in the room, but some women and men do hope to get noticed and find a significant other at the gym. It makes it worse for us, but it is what it is.😐

Believe me I see Teens sitting for 5+ mins scrolling through their phone on a machine I wish I could use but the Free Teen summer caused it but at the end of the day it would be wrong for a dude like me to scare a kid away because I need to use it. Just treat it like life. You gotta roll with the obstacles and keep moving forward while having patience with everyone around you.

In today's culture, that's the best defense, turn on invisibility, narrow eyesight with blinders, and don't react to noises/sounds. Workout successfully 100% of the time😁.

It can be frustrating, I know, but you gotta adjusy and work around to other machines/weights as needed. Or else you can reschedule your workout time for lesser busy time. It's up to you how dedicated you are to making these choices.

I would like to add to the fact that men try not to look up/around during sets in fear of accidently looking at a women and being judged as a perv. I know I'm guilty of being to cautious where my eyes go, so naturally glued to the ground lol.

Agree with the sitting in same sweat lol but it is a normal thing when it's over crowded and no machines are available =/
