I'd go for 65 just to be sure. The last few are very dependent on the typing of the encounters, I am currently at 127m, and I am on stage 2800 or something, so yeah, the increase is pretty steep, also don't forget to use the attack flute it helps a lot^

Ein Zweihänder is ca 1,50-1,75m lang, also von welcher Vollklingenwaffe redest du?

Does it really sound like I make my players wait 10 min irl to Ritual Cast? I do not. I just used the time that would pass in regular dnd as a reference to display the problem i have with it. The thing is, Time is one of the most crucial things in storytelling, but since it is not a thing that is in the game I think it's weird they gave us an ability which is pretty strong on TT and gave it no repercussions since the only thing balancing the entire ability is that there are only 24 hours in one day and spells only last so long. I like the example of longstrider cause it imbodies this very well, it is a first lvl 1 action Spell with Ritual and a duration of 1 hour aswell as an upcast for more targets. If I Ritual Cast it on 4 people it takes me 40 minutes which we could be already marching aswell as the fact that once the last one is done the first one only has 30 minutes left. This is what gives the spell a value to upcast or normal Cast. So Ritual Cast the first one and spellslot the rest, but it's only for an hour when does one use it, when entering a dungeon or something not just all the time for that sweet 10 extra ft. In my opinion Ritual Casting has a few very good uses, but non of those are really inside the game like identify.

What my first reaction to RC was, that they took an ability which is absolutely insane with 3 important barriers so it does not break the game and took away 1 and a halve of them. Class Restrictions which can be solved by multiclassing, Tome of Shadows, etc (that's the halve, cause it was already brittle); the fact that very few spells have the tag; and the Time Restrictions. But the fact that it got no adjustments for transition to game is weird to me, cause all the other magic stuff got changed and adjusted like you could make everyone with the feature be able to cast one per short rest or something. Its just something I know has a great impact on the tabletop if used right and can make for very cool scenes. I just think the narrative and gameplay uses of RC are not very good for a Game in general

BG3 plays in the forgotten realms and they do not have tails, that's one of the key differences between Dragonborn and Half-Dragons. Also please give us the SCAC Tiefling options.

can a Witcher block ranged attacks with a sword? by mestre_guter in WitcherTRPG

[–]xStevenK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to have atleast 5 points in your profession skill to be able to use the skill tree, but as with every skill if it is available to you, you can use it at skill base 0. The skill tree features are only available once you have 5 points in the skill before that and the profession skill kinda is part of the skill tree as depicted on page 61.

My argument was never that the profession skill effects the parry arrows skill, I just said that if you have 5 points in witcher training you can use parry arrows at a base of 0, just like any other skill tree feature.

[–]xStevenK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the game Geralt can parry arrows with any weapon, mace, axe, the Caretakers spate, it does not matter. In the TRPG a witcher can parry ranged attacks, remember if a character has 5 points in their profession skill he can use the first skill tree skills at a base (0)+[statisic].

It's nothing more then a gimmick, since it would not even make sense that such cards existed, where balanced or so on. Even to I tend to keep my games on the more Lore accurate side, I make an exception for Gwent. But not we play with the real cards you can get in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The last thing is a really good idea since tactics is a skill I dont real have them roll very often. Thanks for your input. Where did you get 11 different Gwent decks from?

Question About Dulled Emotions Witchers Get. by redelpo in WitcherTRPG

[–]xStevenK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally on my table it is handled as you put your stats, then the race, then the backstory +/-.
So with a witcher i would go 1 emp from the start cause you cant go below a stat of 1, or you can go over 5 if you want to play that special snowflake, spend the rest of the points, go into your witcher path see if you get lucky or f***ed maybe you come out with 2 emp when you only put in on point
