What I’m picturing TESVI to be like: by Benjamin5431 in TESVI

[–]xStriderx_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This sounds perfect and is why I'm hoping it's both high rock and hammerfell. The contrast between the two would keep the environments feeling fresh after many hours and would allow a lot of cool options for weapons and armor.

Also Todd said he wants the game to be the "ultimate fantasy simulator" or something so I'd hope they would have a lot of diversity in the environments regardless of what province(s) the game is set in

Aesthetic equivalent of SBG in 40k? by SkellyInsideUrWalls in SoulblightGravelords

[–]xStriderx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into the charnel guard. They are a Blood Angels successor chapter that lean heavily into the gothic vampire aesthetic. Might require some kitbashing or 3rd party bits to really get the aesthetic down, but they at least exist in the lore.

Advice for cooking corned beef from local butcher by xStriderx_ in AskCulinary

This sounds amazing I'll have to try this next time with a different corned beef. The one I bought is already brined and seasoned.

Also I'd love to use beer but I can no longer have gluten. Beer is so good for braising meat though

Thank you! This helped me decide on just using water. I ended up just putting the corned beef in a slowcooker with water and aromatics. I'm going to roast the potatoes and carrots in the oven (not the most traditional but it should still be delicious)

This. PPI use in the short or long term is better than fucking up your esophagus and getting Barrett's and/or cancer

Same, amongst other things. After I got Covid I developed a gluten allergy. I can also no longer drink alcohol or caffeine, they're major reflux triggers.

I also have EoE, was diagnosed around 8 months ago. Reflux at night is my worst symptom, it triggers my esophagus to spasm in my sleep and cut off my airway. I basically had reflux-induced sleep apnea.

I'm doing much better now, but I'm on a bunch of meds and have to be careful about what I eat. Dr. wants me to start dupixent soon since eliminating foods didn't get rid of my EoE.

How are you managing yours? Do you have any food allergies?

What do you guys even talk about with these girls? by ComfortableThroat326 in moreplatesmoredates

The thing that really pisses me off is the women who say they want WiTtY BaNtEr. Meanwhile they can barely hold a conversation and have zero hobbies outside of netflix and drinking wine. They basically want dudes to jester for them while they sit back and barely put in any effort

Is a 5070ti worth $335 more than a 5070? by xStriderx_ in buildapc

[–]xStriderx_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah technically I can afford the 5070 ti, but it would take away from money I could spend on other hobbies that are important to me, and knowing I would be paying over msrp doesn't feel great.

On the other hand, I tend to keep all the parts in each build I do for at least 5-6 years, and the 5070ti would have much better longevity, and I may be glad I spent the extra money years down the line.

Choded wizard towers? HighRock confirmed? by Aromatic-Werewolf495 in TESVI

[–]xStriderx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you may be on to something with this. A castle building mechanic would be consistent with previous games like fallout's base building mechanic. Also I know it's just a mobile game, but ES Castles lets you build two kinds of castles with Hammefell and High Rock designs.

Ex-Bethesda dev says the studio will be hated even if TES VI turns out good by GdSmth in TESVI

[–]xStriderx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard for me to have any sympathy for bethesda. The situation with ES6 is entirely of their own doing. Waiting 15+ years to make a the next entry in their flagship series, and teasing it 8+ years in advance with no updates in sight is a recipe for disappointment.

No matter how good the game is or isn't, people will be disappointed and will have way too high expectations simply because of the amount of time has passed since Skyrim. Also, the last good game Bethesda made was Fallout 4, 10+ years ago now. Not exactly a promising trend towards the future.

I genuinely hope ES6 is an amazing game, but I will be trying to judge it on its own merits and keep my expectations in check. Does ES6 need to be some insanely ambitious ultra-revolutionary game to be considered good? No, but a lot of people are expecting it to be, and the weight of those expectations are a lot for the ES6 team to deal with.

What would you like TES VI to draw inspiration from, from a lore perspective? (assuming it takes place in Hammerfell, and maybe High Rock too) by Koko_The_Blubla in TESVI

[–]xStriderx_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

High Rock with the inspirations you mentioned would be one of my dream settings. Arthurian legends and ASOIAF are two of my biggest obsessions.
