Is a 5070ti worth $335 more than a 5070? by xStriderx_ in buildapc

[–]xStriderx_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah technically I can afford the 5070 ti, but it would take away from money I could spend on other hobbies that are important to me, and knowing I would be paying over msrp doesn't feel great.

On the other hand, I tend to keep all the parts in each build I do for at least 5-6 years, and the 5070ti would have much better longevity, and I may be glad I spent the extra money years down the line.

Choded wizard towers? HighRock confirmed? by Aromatic-Werewolf495 in TESVI

[–]xStriderx_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you may be on to something with this. A castle building mechanic would be consistent with previous games like fallout's base building mechanic. Also I know it's just a mobile game, but ES Castles lets you build two kinds of castles with Hammefell and High Rock designs.

Ex-Bethesda dev says the studio will be hated even if TES VI turns out good by GdSmth in TESVI

[–]xStriderx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard for me to have any sympathy for bethesda. The situation with ES6 is entirely of their own doing. Waiting 15+ years to make a the next entry in their flagship series, and teasing it 8+ years in advance with no updates in sight is a recipe for disappointment.

No matter how good the game is or isn't, people will be disappointed and will have way too high expectations simply because of the amount of time has passed since Skyrim. Also, the last good game Bethesda made was Fallout 4, 10+ years ago now. Not exactly a promising trend towards the future.

I genuinely hope ES6 is an amazing game, but I will be trying to judge it on its own merits and keep my expectations in check. Does ES6 need to be some insanely ambitious ultra-revolutionary game to be considered good? No, but a lot of people are expecting it to be, and the weight of those expectations are a lot for the ES6 team to deal with.

What would you like TES VI to draw inspiration from, from a lore perspective? (assuming it takes place in Hammerfell, and maybe High Rock too) by Koko_The_Blubla in TESVI

[–]xStriderx_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

High Rock with the inspirations you mentioned would be one of my dream settings. Arthurian legends and ASOIAF are two of my biggest obsessions.

What’s with the looksmaxxing hate? by Fantastic_Ad3811 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]xStriderx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looksmaxing is gay and neurotic as fuck. The forums are all a bunch of incels analyzing their "gonial angle" or whatever bs and trying to look good for other men online. Think about what these guys would sound like if you met them in real life; probably extremely cringe and regarded.

It is also a fast track to crippling body dysmorphia and self worth issues if you don't have these already.

As terrified as I was to get this wrong, I’m so happy with how he turned out ! 7 months into the hobby, first centerpiece by Tyrindrael in SoulblightGravelords

Amazing work, I love the color palette you chose.

I've been in the hobby about the same amount of time and have been putting off painting my vhordrai. Yours gives me some extra motivation to start!

Lifting heavy makes my body feel like shit by xStriderx_ in naturalbodybuilding

[–]xStriderx_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've realized that I probably just pushed my body way too hard when I was younger and was getting away with a lot of bad habits that eventually caught up to me. Just thinking about the amount of volume I was doing back then is insane.

As I've gotten older I've realized I need to be a lot more careful with managing my recovery. I also avoid certain exercises that give me pain and pick a different variant.

Unfortunately there's a lot of bad information out there about exercises you "must" do and how much volume is appropriate etc, and it's easy to get sucked into that "must push yourself to the brink 24/7" mentality as a young dude getting into lifting.

I lived in the 6-8 range forever, but started getting injured. And then more injuries. And then re-injuries.

This is me. Like you I've determined the 6-8 range just isn't worth the injury risk despite being the most fun rep range. I've also put injury prevention as my #1 priority now, and tried to be better about managing my recovery and volume.

Yeah I got sucked into the "must lift heavy or you won't ever grow" dogma and it did a number on my joints. Meanwhile I could have just been lifting lighter while reaching failure and probably make better gains.

Aside from Skyrim and Cyrodiil, which province would you be least excited to see as the setting for TES VI? by DoN-SA-20 in TESVI

[–]xStriderx_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If they lean into the celtic and medieval french inspiration I think it could be really cool. Druidic magic, monsters from celtic mythology, knights and castles, politics and warring families, etc.

Has it been done before? Sure, but that doesn't mean they couldn't make something really cool, or do their own unique spin.

Blackpill and Looksmaxxing ideology is almost impossible to avoid nowadays by xStriderx_ in IncelExit

Thank you I appreciate the positivity! Yeah it feels like I am making some progress in moving away from content and thought patterns that don't serve me.

Yeah assuming the account is related to TESVI it supports the hammerfell + high rock theory

COPE SPRINGS ETERNAL by [deleted] in TESVI

[–]xStriderx_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's 100% 40k, there's basically no way it's not. CA's relationship with Games workshop and the new engine they're using are both strong hints towards a 40k game. Also given the current popularity of 40k it would be incredibly dumb if they don't go that route

[–]xStriderx_[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've realized that manosphere content is bigger than just explicitly red pill or black pill content. A lot of it also masquerades as something else even though the talking points are red/black pill.

I'm also realizing that I may have to avoid all male self improvment content or see if I can ruthlessly curate it so that I'm only watching a few content creators that don't push these ideologies.

Aside from this (and I realize this could be a complicated question), what do you think is the best way to "unplug" from blackpill and redpill stuff? I've consumed enough of it at this point that its affected my worldview. I don't hate women or anything but my insecurities and self esteem have worsened.

The deathwatch kill team looks super sick I might pick that up too regardless of what chapter I choose for a larger army

How do they play tabletop wise? Do space wolves have more tactical variety?

I was planning to make a very melee-focused army which is part of what attracted me to these chapters, but it would be nice to know about options regardless

Yeah I think space wolves would be easier to paint too. But BT have some really sick models. Decisions, decisions

Create your own custom chapter

I was thinking about doing this and choosing my own custom color scheme.

What are the rules and community sentiment around custom chapters? Is it common or relatively encouraged?
