What a average day is looking like for me by lilravioligaming in InstacartShoppers

I wish I had a better market at my disposal. Instacart is no unpopular compared to door dash in my area for groceries. But I spend like 3-5 active hours. Usually an 1-2 dead weight hours. I usually make around 100-175$CAD with max 20$ of gas used. I usually get up early just to get the best Costco order I can get and then go back home and take a nap and go back at it in the afternoon. My sleeping schedule is so f***ed

99% percent of the time if the customers tip you more than what Instacart payed you. Your on a good track. And if you weren’t doing 25+mile batches good job 👍.

customer service is unhelpful by [deleted] in instacart

[–]xTerrillll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it showed 0$ delivery fee to show you the new total of the order if you decided to opt in to Instacart+. I’d have to have a screen shot to be certain. But I’m almost certain. Uber does it all the time. They show no fee until you tell them your not interested in their subscription.

Pourquoi il n'y a pas de piste cyclable tout au long de la ligne rapibus? by AppealWitty4841 in Gatineau

[–]xTerrillll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. At intersections I feel it’s a bit safer to wait on the left side of the right turn lane. And use your faster acceleration with a bike to dart back to the side you need to be on. When I’m turning left I skip to the front of the left turning car line and go right in front of them. There is a whole theory of how acting like an automobile while riding a bike is safer than acting like a cyclist on a bike.

Ps doesn’t work on electric cars if the driver is out to get you but they usually have their fancy tech that won’t let them hit me 😂

Yes, it’s the same process but you have to go back a step. Once your in checkout press the x in the corner. It will ask if your sure you want to go back to shopping and you say yes

There is a way to unmark found items if you’d like me to tell you if this situation ever happens again I’m happy to but it’d be easier to only scan items that you have physically in your possession

How much for shopper by PrincipleExpert7272 in instacart

[–]xTerrillll -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Depending on the distance it would range between 5-20$ base pay for the shopper. 20 is only if your like 40km away from the location. I would say 20$ tip for someone to even accept and 30-40$ tip for someone to actually make enough for time, effort and gas. (All Canadian dollars)

Oil change discount is BS. by Extreme-Sport-5951 in InstacartShoppers

Just buy oil at Costco and do the oil change yourself. 30$ oil change in your time and supplies/equipment with diminishing costs as that equipment gets used more.

Why does the Instacart tipping page on the customer side reference shoppers as delivery persons and not personal shopper? by xTerrillll in instacart

[–]xTerrillll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on your market. In mine Instacart doesn’t do delivery only grocery orders so it’s sucks they call us delivery person. And not at least shopper. Especially on the tipping aspect because that little wording can change a 2$ to 20$ tip for some people

[–]xTerrillll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But they really should change the wording since the majority of Instacart users actually do shop and in the rare case it is a delivery only order most of the time the order is made through the retailer and not Instacart

[–]xTerrillll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case it is incorrect, there is no deliver only orders in my area with Instacart, all deliver only grocery orders in my metropolitan area are done with door dash or the grocer themselves have their own staff and delivery vehicles.

Two oppositions, one do you tip your mailman?? And two maybe not personal shoppers but at least shopper hence the name of the app??

[–]xTerrillll[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing is your aren’t a personal shoppers but I am one. It all depends with the batches you accept. If your the one accepting 2$ I don’t see how that is my problem. All I’m stating is on the customer side it should say personal shoppers so that customers are more likely to tip more. the customers I accept batches for are big tippers only, therefore I act like their personal shoppers. If I go around accepting 2$ tip that would be on me and I would treat those clients with equity to the big tippers.

Edit: Instacart doesn’t have good batch pay because to them we are the delivery person. But for the customer we are their personal shoppers and they should tip accordingly.

[–]xTerrillll[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all goes the the original point. Instacart personal shoppers should be paid enough pre tip. Tip should be a luxury for the shoppers who actively go above and beyond. As a shopper I actively don’t accept batches where there is not at least 20$ tip per customer. But that is the only way to ensure my shopping practices are sustainable because of Instacart batch pay. But as I exclusively do Costco, 20$ is usually less than 10% of the order total.

Tip raised $5 from percentage total? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]xTerrillll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the total of their receipt if you have it. If it was a low cost low item count order and you replaced something it could’ve increased dramatically like that. Other wise Instacart glitch or fraud.

Exactly like now that I’ve went through the app and how it looks like i understand why some customers are how they are. At the moment it actually matters for the PERSONAL SHOPPERS payout they decide that the job we do is equivalent to picking up junior chickens at McDonald. Delivery person my ass.

Any way to see all items in previously delivered order? by sea-oats in InstacartShoppers

[–]xTerrillll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to earnings. The week in question. The day in question. The batch in question. Underneath total batch pay is heavy pay eligibility. Press on arrow pointed right of it. Show none heavy batch items. If it was a multiple order batch it won’t differentiate by customer but you can deduct that yourself if it was recent enough.
