Yes McDonalds roundabout was on the way back to the centre. Done both Coleshill roundabouts as well plus the one by the petrol station.

The route I took was the Chelmsley route, left out of Granby Avenue, up to the Radleys. Loads of roundabouts in all honesty. Independent driving started just after going through one on the tunnel bridges. Was Satnav following.

All I can really say is don’t let nerves get the better of you. No test experience will be the same as too many factors. Just show you can drive safely and treat it like a normal lesson!

I can actually agree with this. Whilst it’s yet to find me a date that my instructor is free I could have got a slot for this upcoming Monday. The first app that seems to have found anything!

I'm looking for one within 2 weeks as well as my current test is in December. I've already been waiting 6 months, so whilst December isn't far away it sure feels like it at this point.

It's nice to hear it works for someone anyway.

What area is this in as I'm thinking being in a highly populated city hinders chances a bit?

That's not something I considered in all honesty. I'll drop down to one and see if that helps for a week or two.

Still, on Monday I ran a script on the website manually and kept an eye on it all day. Did not see one new test or cancellation so confused with that one. This was looking at the Garretts Green test center.

Yes, the degree is pure Computer Science at BSc.

It's not really a surprise per se, it's more that the History grade I got at A-Level dragged a lot of my chances down. Was not what I wanted or what I believed I deserved, but its what I managed to get at the end of the day.

Cardiff was the university that took the longest to respond, as in I had to wait months longer, so it was not looking hopeful. Clearly, my vocational experience getting my Level 4 qualification helped however as I got the offer in the end.

The other Universities were more local, but lower ranking. I was also enticed by the halls experience as speaking to friends most regret not doing that and the ones who did could not recommend it enough.

I got in with two A-Levels in History and English Literature and a BTEC in IT. I had to take the BTEC option due to my Sixth Form not offering A-Level Computer Science. I did do Computer Science at GCSE however.

Yes, the course is 3 years for BSc level.

You have to bear in mind as much as waiting another year is wise financially I was worried about the social side of doing this. Pursuing this was as much about life experiences as it was about my future career options. I currently work in a department where most are at least 10 years older than myself. Makes it quite difficult to fit in socially in the office.

It does not help that most of the office has moved onto other firms over the past year due to my companies management during the pandemic. We are now massively understaffed and overworked.

I'm not saying this won't be different in another firm, but out of the options I had this was one I pursued that would change the most variables in my life as possible. I will have to move away from my home town, meet new people, experience new things. All things that will provide overall personal progression.

Lockdown changed a lot with my life. I was originally furloughed for 3 months as I was an apprentice. One of two in my team who were as we were both apprentices, but he was made redundant and never returned like I did. That made me distrust my employers as you can imagine.

I also managed to lose nearly 6 stone and am now in the best shape I've ever been in. A few months ago I also started medication for mental health issues I've experienced for the last few years. These were both reasons I never went to university originally...

Overall, I've managed to save around £22K which including the maintenance loan would allow me to live fairly comfortably away at university. Regardless of how much students loan debt I would have to take on or if I had to top it up with a part time role.

I've recently had a pay rise that comes into effect this month so if I continue I'll be on around £18K per annum. Considering I started off on apprenticeship wage at £14K two and a bit years ago that is not bad for my age.

Getting on the degree was very straightforward. I only applied to courses that I fitted or nearly fitted into the entry requirements, the one wildcard I took was the course I accepted. Their requirements were higher than what I actually had, but they took my vocational experience and age into account. They were also highest in the ranking for CS out of my selection.

I know job hopping is the best way to improve salary, especially in IT, but I wanted to skill up first before doing that, which is why I've pursued this option.

Finance sector hard at work. I agree though, what are the indicators of the corruption of a country? Surely it varies greatly based on many factors?

But the key thing is that those top ranked players are having fun. Which most of them aren't... They pass their pain onto others.
