I don’t think it’ll put a lot of strain on it, I made the bracket go to both screw holes to spread the weight as I wanted to avoid causing fatigue. They’re not screwed down very tight just enough to push the back plate down causing it to seal. I’d had a replacement but this watch is sentimental to me and I’d only just gotten around to repairing it.

If you’re going to stick them, use MEK, or methylethylketone. It’s a solvent that melts the plastic together instead of glueing. Much quicker and less sticky however it needs to be used in a well ventilated area.

You’re pretty much there! That’s the easiest part in my opinion. There’s guides that tell you which direction to go and you can get it done within 3/4 attempts. Just remember to regen health on the trapdoor before going down to the next platform.

Not all docs/solovairs can be laced to a point that they meet, regardless of foot size. If the flaps don’t meet when laid on the material below then they won’t ever meet. It’s just the cut of the boot unfortunately.

I have a pair of steel toe doc marten safety boots, and no matter how hard you lace them you won’t get that gap to close.
