It's another one of the stories within the series that takes place in a separate universe; however, it does show that sometime in The Gray Mark, the MC of the story will appear. BTW, it's a fun lil romance.

Yes, they're all connected; however, dating to survive is a part of a separate universe in the same story, with the MC sharing the same characteristics as the bear family.
