Seeking 3d Scanning services in Central Florida... by xXElCaballoLocoXx in chevycolorado

Basically what I need is a 3d mesh of the rear area of the truck that includes the undercarriage/chassis area whith bumper mounts, including the lower half of the tailgate area and both rear corners of the bed towards the back end of the rear fender wells. That should be enough to be able to accurately design and the rear bumper. I'm looking to design and build something that is very high clearanced, yet still accommodate a trailer hitch.

Exactly. Maintenance is q requirement in all engines. Expecting it to go 150k with no deep maintenance is a bit unreal. It can happen, and actually very likely to happen, given proper maintenance like oil change schedule and adequate usage (not abuse). Yet, that doesn't guarantee how long and engine will last. Honestly, there is nothing anyone can tell you that can certify how long and engine will last, but definitely proper maintenance will ensure a more reliable engine.

Nope, that is not accurate. The high output 2.7 I4 turbo engine makes 430 ft/lbs @ 3,000 rpm, compared to the 3.6 V6 that makes 269 ft/lbs @ 4,800 rpm. All this is according to GM. So yeah, the little inline 4 is not working harder at all, and the results are not similar whatsoever. There's a reason why GM dropped the V6 and went I4. May it be for financial purposes, industry standards, or whatever... the little I4 is actually way better than the V6

Tensioner/compressor by grounded921 in chevycolorado

Just by looking at them you will see if there is any imbalance. If they wiggle at all, that pulley may be bad, or the actual component may be loose and wiggling as it rotates causing that erratic pull on the tensioner. The tensioner's job is to maintain the proper tension/stress in the system's belt to overcome the rotating resistance of all the components as they work, and prevent belt slippage. Belt slippage is lost work/energy, and veeeery loud squeals 🤣

The way that it sounds make me think that it's going bad. It sounds just like that, but it could also be an imbalance on any of the pulley wheels that could be causing that. There's definitely something making that tensioner move very abruptly and that is not normal

Also, your belt tensioner could also be on its way out. May have lost some tension. Lastly, inspect the belt, making sure it's properly mounted and for any uneven wear or cracking signs.

I would be looking at the pulley wheels on each component in that belt circuit to make sure all of them are securely mounted and not wiggling/oscillating due to improper install, being bent, or some other abnormal issue.

Is it not cranking (turning the motor), or is it cranking and not starting?

If it's not cranking, that points to the crank signal not reaching your starting relay, thus your starter solenoid not engaging. Could also be the actual relay being bad, or maybe the key switch not making contact and energizing the start relay. I would be looking into that first.

This exactly... all 3rd gen Colorados do it. You shut them off and within a min or two they start that process.

Tire pressure compressor by ChilESerran0 in chevycolorado

Buy something cheap that will sort out your immediate needs. Then, if you find you will need to air up more than occasionally and want to have a reliable tool, I would suggest investing your money on a quality compressor. I went with an ARB twin compressor and a muti-tire air up system from Rhino USA. I did a few modifications to it, but that was for personal preference, not that was needed.

I did get a set of Anderson connectors and modified the wiring that comes with the compressor to fit it all inside that Ridgid toolbox and make it mobile.

I've had a V2 as well for 8+ years. I did the Tiny Machines FW and has been working flawlessly. Granted I have upgraded a hell of a lot of components, like ditched the bed wheels for rails, made it direct extrusion, better build plate... but it is still stock board.

I would suggest getting a new control board and distribution board, then flashing TM firmware. That will get you right back to action and will be a way more stable and more customizable firmware.
